Seems Farage has an announcement to make at 4pm today.

Hmm.
Standing as a Reform MP after all?
Emigrating to America to canvass for Trump?
Joining the Tory party?
None of the above?

I shall tune in out of curiosity.

Is there a much higher proportion of inappropriate (blatantly sexist, misogynist, racist etc) people amongst those aspiring to/wh are politicians than amongst the general population?

It would seem so!
Perhaps it's an ego thing.

Starmer is too much of a coward.

I think that crown probably goes to Sunak and with all good reason. The Tories are under threat of total wipe out from Reform whereas Labour aren't.

My apologies if Sunak (who has also been offered a head to head with Farage) has accepted the challenge and I've missed it.

A debate between Sunak and Farage would be a total waste of time. Reform will not be forming the next government, nor the opposition.

I'd like to see such a debate.

We might find out what the policy differences are and the different ideas for tax, funding and welfare. Give the electorate clearer ideas in currently very muddy waters. Reform are very wobbly on the details.

They have no details and a debate wouldn’t make details magically appear.

I take back the accusation that they have no details - Farage was speaking at lunchtime.

I am struggling to understand why the launch of the Reform ‘manifesto’ was in Merthyr Tydfil, on one of the most deprived housing estates in the UK - whatever, but it doesn’t look from the report in Wales Online that he achieved his goal of capturing the local population’s interest.

What rubbish, I can remember when that estate was built, Merthyr was affluent for many years, then loss of coal mining, steelworks etc,
Merthyr has been Labour since Keir Hardie won the seat

I agree Anniebach, I think his researchers dropped a clanger choosing Merthyr - perhaps they thought deprived, Welsh Valleys, and thought it must be the same as Clacton. It was telling that the supporters they interviewed were largely from other parts of Wales rather than locals.
