Hmm.
Standing as a Reform MP after all?
Emigrating to America to canvass for Trump?
Joining the Tory party?
None of the above?

I shall tune in out of curiosity.

Well you would say that Whitewave really as your vote landed on the side that didn’t win the majority in the referendum.

Yes I’m disappointed Brexit wasn’t made the most of and Boris let us down.

But now? It’s time to move on, be pragmatic (both sides) and make the best of what we have. And hope Labour can do a great job for UK interests.

Brexit has been a failure. Even Farage says that. 🙄

Erm, he says it because the Tory government didn’t enact the possibilities open to us DiamondLily. Sluggish, half hearted he actually said. I agree!

Nearly half the population didn't want those "possibilities". Have you ever heard of democracy and consensus?

I have indeed growstuff what a silly question.
The ‘majority’ (who could be bothered on the day) voted Out.
Now, THAT’s democracy at work - right there. (Even though you didn’t like the result).
‘Nearly’. Yes. I understand.
But even losing by one vote gives a majority to the other side.

Democracy isn't some kind of penalty shoot out with a single winner. It's actually supposed to be about all the people being represented. In the case of the referendum, the result was nearly 50/50, so there wasn't a clear "winner". In any case, none of us was told exactly what we were voting for and what would replace the EU in our relations with other countries.

Thank you too.

This constant stream of Farage bashing is appalling.
These childish comments make you no better than the squabbling Conservatve party.
If you have nothing intelligent to say about public figures - say nothing!

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 14-Jun-24 08:34:56

You support him and his racist views then?

Even though his own modus operandi is to create hate and division?

Anniebach Fri 14-Jun-24 08:59:45

I can’t find anything intelligent to say about Farage

zakouma66 Fri 14-Jun-24 09:22:17

How about " he tells it as it is"

nanna8 Fri 14-Jun-24 09:27:33

I don’t think he is all bad and some of what he says is commonsense. Just some, though. Overall I wouldn’t trust him but I am sure over there you see a lot more of him and are able to make more informed opinions. Many moons ago I used to date a boy from Dulwich College and never thought of it as a particularly posh school. Just ordinary boys.

Without needing an autocue. Impressive eh !grin

I thought he might be a useful companion if we were lost in the tropical rainforest.

It’s more a case of ‘He tells it as he sees it’.

zakouma66 Fri 14-Jun-24 10:46:33

Ok, so we have established he can hold a crowd and string sentences together.

Ordinary boys with very wealthy parents! Nobody who attends independent secondary schools is an average normal dude, however much they might tell you they are.

We might have more time for Farage if he wasn’t so smug and divisive, less hypocritical and not all over the media constantly

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 14-Jun-24 11:18:04

nanna8 I grew up in a city with a King's School. I did think that the boys were different. They thought so, too.

Farage wants a head to head with Starmer….
Let’s see if Starmer will take him on…

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 14-Jun-24 15:15:21

Starmer is too much of a coward.

Casdon Fri 14-Jun-24 15:19:56

Although they have beaten the Tories in one poll, Reform are not in second place overall, they are 5 points behind the Tories, who will be the main opposition. Farage is posturing.

We’ll see 🤓

Anniebach Fri 14-Jun-24 15:38:23

What should Starmer hold a debate with Farage ? What of
Plaid Cymru, Liberals, Green, SNP, ?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 14-Jun-24 15:42:51

None of them has any chance of forming a government.

Casdon Fri 14-Jun-24 15:46:11

Neither does Farage. They are just as relevant to the people who support them as Reform are, and the Lib Dem’s stand to win a lot more seats too. As we don’t have PR, that’s what counts.
