Oh dear.

Vaughan Gething has lost a no confidence vote in the Welsh Senedd in a fresh blow for Labour.

The First Minister of Wales, a close ally of Sir Keir Starmer, was under pressure to resign over a series of scandals during his short stint in office.

He’s not been the FM long!

What are other Welsh grans thinking on this topic? Anyone?
It would be really interesting to hear your views.

No, Urmstongran, 28% of the Welsh people would vote to abolish devolution according to the latest YouGov survey I could find, it covers Scotland too.

Missing whatsapp/texts messages though. Not a good look. That needs investigating to find out the truth.

1965, Capel Celyn a village in Gwynedd was flooded, thevillagers didn’t want to move but no choice, Liverpool wanted
water, a private bill sponsored by Liverpool council presented to Parliament, the flooding of a Welsh valley, no planing required, several demonstration marches to Liverpool, 35 of 36 Welsh MP’s voted against 1 abstained. The. valley was. flooded, the villagers and local farmers had to move.

2005 Liverpool council made a formal apology .

That’s shocking Anniebach.

I remember the flooding of the village. It was horrifying. I wouldn't want us to be ruled by Westminster again.
That incident showed how little regard the government had for Wales.

No regard AGAA4 ,we need The Welsh Assembly

I think there are quite a few GNetters living in Wales of all political persuasions with just as strong opinions as any other part of the UK and that is as it should be.

My concern with this situation is that Gething has raised the spectre of racism against him and it almost makes him untouchable.

Not sure how I’d forgotten about Adam Price, Casdon, at least he didn’t suggest homophobia when he went!

Urmanston. In my circle of friends and also my family the majority of people are saddened by the actions of the Labour controlled Welsh Assembly, now called the Senedd. It is not healthy for any party to be in power for so long. We were all Labour supporters but have become disheartened by the dictatorial way that we are being governed.
Yes, Vaughan Gethin will probably play the race card, but Jeremy Miles, the one who lost, came out as gay a few years ago. So I don't think prejudice can be used in this instance.
