The world has gone mad.

Mollygo Sat 29-Jun-24 15:31:53

More vs Vs.
^ I wouldn't give even the tiniest crap if my children came out as gay, bi trans... All I care about is their life being happy and free from harm. Whether it's my child or future grandchild, or 2 doors down or in school or on the bus... I accept them^ implying that only you do that.

Nice I’m all right Jack statement though. You accept them unreservedly.

I would and have accepted them for what they are. I would not support them in lying and cheating and harming others.
Your statement implies that you would.

Wow, and now you want other posters to adjust their posts, very Orwellian.

No, asking someone to simply not make untrue statements about another poster... I think that's a fair requirement in discussion

If not, please do say so

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:36:24

I'm talking equality!

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:37:53

I think Mollygro has the right to free speech.

VioletSky Sat 29-Jun-24 15:40:36

Oh can you not just think for a moment?

Just consider a trans person and their feelings please

Some of them are children right now growing up in a world that is not safe

Just think it through... You CAN be accepting and keep women safe, if that is what you really want, all you need to do is learn how... I'm already doing it and so are many others... Just listen

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:47:22

Some of those children are biological females and I wish to protect them from the trans activists which are maligning biology for their own wants, you who looks after children should be accepting of this.
Trans people who live their lives peacefully and happily I accept totally, but I will not give up my rights to trans activists .
Data shows and proves that biological females are NOT safe from these people.

VioletSky Sat 29-Jun-24 15:50:15

And I have the right to say, that is untrue and speak for myself but again, if you support people in discussion doing that, then how can you ever discuss anything expecting respect?

You may think so little of me that my respect doesn't matter to you but this is an open forum and many people read these threads

Mt61 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:54:21

You can expect more of this nonsense once labour get in, it will be one of the wokest governments we have ever had!
I think they just want to women to disappear

VioletSky Sat 29-Jun-24 15:54:37

I follow my training to the letter, here and at my place of work when it comes to how I conduct myself about trans issues

And I agree with the equality act

You guys need to learn that you can't use someone who does accept trans people as a scapegoat for "trans activists" or anyone else who wants to harm women in discussion... And then self reflect on how that may be impacting how you treat other people and whether that is who you want to be as a person

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:55:39

Prove my statement untrue!
I am not disrespecting anybody by speaking what I believe true on an open forum, prove me wrong.

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:58:18

You are tying yourself in knots VS, transactivists are part of the trans movement, that is a true statement.

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 15:59:15

Also, I'm very happy with the person I am🙂

I said that Mollygo made an untrue statement about me, at least twice now...

You defended that statement and said she has a right to say it

That's completely up to you but it's not really ok is it?

Am I to be allowed to speak for myself and my real thoughts and opinions or should that be dictated to me?

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:08:04

Say what you like, you wouldn't make any impact on me, you hardly ever respond to questions you just go of on tangents.

I respond to what actually happened or what is real... I can't respond to things that I haven't ever said

That's the point I am making

If it hasn't happened I wouldn't have needed to address it

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:13:41

Trans activism in trans movement is happening please respond.

?!?

The equality act is a good place to start and from there we can start any respectful discussion about the rights of those with protected characteristics and how we ensure they are always in place

mrshat Sat 29-Jun-24 16:24:55

Lord help us all!! - I've not read the thread, just the title!

Galaxy Sat 29-Jun-24 16:25:17

No men in female spaces, women not having to go through legal cases to ensure this.

Bridie22 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:45:19

Again I will reiterate, the equality act is not fit for purpose as it allows anybody to identify as they wish at any given time to the detriment of biological females, a piece of paper does not change your biological sex, gender is a socially constructed word to cover how you want to feel not what you are biologically.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:46:58

A man in a dress, heels and makeup is still a man. His chromosomes are male, his gamates are male, his body parts are male.

Gender reassignment is merely window dressing.

I respect his right to dress and present however he likes.

He should respect my rights and that of other women not to have men in our toilets, dress shop changing rooms, gym showers and changing rooms, women’s refuges along with women’s sports.

VioletSky Sat 29-Jun-24 16:48:08

We are not defined by what is in our pants

Well, I refuse to be anyway which is why I'm a feminist

The equality act does not allow anyone to identify at anything to the detrimental of anyone, that's the point of it

Smileless2012 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:48:32

Why do you keep on insisting that you are the only one who accepts trans people VS? No one has said here or on any thread about this issue on GN that they don't.

What rights are they being denied?

Smileless2012 Sat 29-Jun-24 16:51:23

If the equality act doesn't allow anyone to identify as anything to the detriment of anyone, why are trans women allowed to compete against biological women in sport?

VioletSky Sat 29-Jun-24 16:51:28

Smileless

At no point have I said that trans peoples rights are being denied

I've explained what acceptance is

Why don't you tell me what acceptance looks like for you? Maybe I could understand if people on this thread were to explain what that acceptance actually looks like
