I meant that Reform are racist, xenophobic and misogynistic.
Not the voter. I don’t really know what motivates someone to vote for such a mostly crew.

Were they all real or were some just AI candidates?

Nigel Farage is not a racist. Some of his followers may well be but he,personally, is not. Some of the Labour party followers are racist. Some of the Conservative followers are racist.
And you are certain of this because?
Reform gained 14% of the share of votes.
The progressive parties gained between 57% and 60% if you include the independents.
Not everyone voting Tory is far right.
So I’m unclear why moving further to the right is terribly sensible for the Tories.
I don't see the point in the conservatives moving to the right. Reform had no viable policy on turning back the boats, and their economic policies were fact checked as rubbish.
They need their own voice.
The tories will have been out and about a lot recently and should be able to see what's gone wrong. Personally I don't think they will benefit from moving to the edges (too far right or left). Surely they need to be more "centred".

I really wish the constant attacks on Farage would cease because now I am beginning to like him and think he has influence after all. He seems to be the whipping boy for everyone. His party only has 5 MPs so why the fuss ?
It doesn’t matter how many or how few MPs any party has, they have to act within the war.
Farage courts attention, bad or good, all publicity is good.
Please don’t be fooled by his “nice guy, almost victim, normal man in the street”, it’s a lie, he’s divisive and persuasive and a great orator. He has much in common with others in the past not associated with great things!
One of his ex schoolmates has much to say about him including how proud he was of his far right leanings.
Make no mistake, he’s a very dangerous man!

Very few people who vote conservative are “far right”.
I know some decent hard working Tories. There were some very good, caring, hard working Tory MPs including the late David Amess.
There are good and no so good MPs in almost every political party.

Farage, in his first appearance in the commons, and he launched a snide and insulting attack on John Bercow. I'm not a fan of Bercow but it was uncalled for.
Is this a sign of the kind of behaviour we can expect from Reform - more yah boo politics?
I fear it is! Sadly this will encourage others to retaliate. This isn’t what we need!

I don’t trust Labour to take a tough line on immigration Cossy, nothing in their manifesto or that they have said to date inspires confidence. Therefore I want them to be under constant pressure to be tough. We’ve been hearing about growth, investment, planning but I have yet to hear a word about immigration.
I agree. They must resolve the issue of asylum seekers. They need a safe way to enter, very quick turnarounds on processing claims, and a quick return if not meeting the criteria.
Left leaning as I can be, given some of the tree nonsense around appeals I’m not even sure appeals should be allowed except in extremely extenuating circumstances.
It’s is an issue, human traffickers are making a fortune, people are losing their lives, those who are economic migrants are ruining it for those who are genuinely seeking asylum.
Genuine question, GSM, what would you like to see? At the moment Reforms "send back the boats" isn't possible, and Rwanda wasn't going to remove the problem either and came at absolutely huge cost.
What you say, cossy
Another genuine question. For those who seem to think that Reform hold all the answers to the countries problems why are they opposed to wind farms because they can injure birds but agree with a party that want to scrap net zero even though global warming is far more of a danger to wildlife and the world in general?
Reform dont believe in climate change:
laid out here
www.theguardian.com/environment/article/2024/may/31/factcheck-no-richard-tice-volcanoes-are-not-to-blame-for-climate-change
support fracking, etc. Call it "clean coal mining"
Farage supports Andrew Tate and thinks he is a good role model for young men. Farage is a misogynist.
It doesn't matter whether climate change is natural or mand made, the result is the same and for humans to indulge in practices that are likely to make natural climate change worse is like pouring petrol on a house to put out a a fire.

Or perhaps another question a bit more pertinent to birds would be 'Why worry about birds at all, as they support hunting, and shooting birds?
Or am I wrong? I havent bothered to read up on anything they stand for really.
My guess would be they're like all the others - say one thing and do another.

nanna8 I’m interested to know how you know this? I see WW has also asked you the same question.
Would love to know your answer nanna - you seem very sure about your claim
The Conservatives will be well aware of the number of votes which Reform garnered. I fully expect them to appoint a leader who is pretty far to the right
GSM if the Tories do lean to the right and become more like Reform, will you still support them (the Tories, that is)?
Yes Lizzie. I believe they need to become more right wing.
Fair enough GSM - that’s your view.
Thanks for the response
I have heard Reform' policies summed up as "the economic policy of Liz Truss and the foreign policy of Vladimir Putin"
I don’t support them but I believe the pressure they can bring to bear as regards people arriving in boats can only help the situation.
But they have no viable policy as regards the people arriving in boats however loudly they shout.
I know they don’t. Even if they did, they are not in government so it’s irrelevant. I don’t support them but I want them to be a constant thorn in Labour’s side regarding immigration. They don’t need a viable policy to do that.
It won’t be long until they are laughed out of court if they don't have a viable policy. Yvette Cooper is excellent at turning the tables, and I doubt if it’s a skill she’s lost in the last week. The current Reform plan, as I thought previously, is for Farage to physically walk on water and turn them back from the middle of the channel by waving his arms about.

I have no interest in him.
I was just amazed that some of the candidates might be fake.
My own turns out to be an ex- UKIP candidate. He is real - not AI generated.
Well, they aren’t a new party are they. They started off as the BNP morphed into UKIP and reincarnated into Reform.
