Were they all real or were some just AI candidates?

The others aren’t busily writing self-important Telegraph articles about their flight plans.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/14/im-flying-to-america-to-support-trump-in-desperate-hour/

It’s paywalled but other papers have it now.

Siope I see he says I implore the Left to think very carefully about how they seek to play politics
🙄

I seem to remember Trump being less than kind when Nancy Pelosi's husband was so violently attacked.

I don't know if anyone else might find this piece in The Atlantic interesting.
I did.

The article is seeking to blame the left in the US for the shooting at the Trump rally. The Trumpian elements of the Republicans (electorate and elected) have been doing this since it happened. It’s pure nonsense.

Sorry, cross-posting. My last post meant Farage’s article in the Guardian.

‘When a madman hammered nearly to death the husband of then–House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump jeered and mocked. One of Trump’s sons and other close Trump supporters avidly promoted false claims that Paul Pelosi had somehow brought the onslaught upon himself through a sexual misadventure.

After authorities apprehended a right-wing-extremist plot to abduct Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Trump belittled the threat at a rally. He disparaged Whitmer as a political enemy. His supporters chanted “Lock her up.” Trump laughed and replied, “Lock them all up.”’
This is the political atmosphere that Trump has created, which started with the chanting about Hillary Clinton.

Well said.

Is it true that Farage is planning to fly to America to support his friend Trump? What about Clacton?? Shouldn’t he be there to support his new constituents?

Are you following every move of all 650 MPs or just stalking him? Maybe you can tell us where all the the others are.

Believe me I don’t want to see, hear or read anything about the man ever again, but every time I turn the tv on, read the paper or go onto my iPad he’s there being interviewed about everything. I’m surprised that they haven’t asked him about why we lost the football match the other night. Out of interest how do you feel about him flying out to America to be with his friend Trump? How do you feel about the close relationship he seems to have with Trump? And the fact that he puts that friendship before his responsibilities towards this country and his constituents?

Chestnut Mon 15-Jul-24 11:27:21

I'm not sure what my feelings have to do with anything especially as I'm not a Reform voter. As Farage is a UK politician I've never liked his relationship with Trump and it's a very bad move going over there now. If I lived in Clacton I would be writing to him asking why he was doing that.

MayBee70 Mon 15-Jul-24 11:29:20

So why are you so critical of me being critical of him?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 15-Jul-24 11:50:46

I was reading an interesting article concerning what may happen if Trump regains the presidency.

Trump is an authoritarian which is why he is so admiring of other authoritarians like Putin and Orban.

Interestingly Orban has invited Trump to Hungary in November - presumably after the election - to meet up with Putin.

The more liberal European leaders will hopefully be planning for this eventuality, although authoritarian parties in Europe like the far right on the mainland and Reform in the U.K. will I assume welcome it.

MayBee70 Mon 15-Jul-24 12:19:20

Reform will be empowered by it. Which frightens me when I read about the things Trump has planned for his vision of America.

As I said elsewhere on Gransnet- just look at the project 2025 stuff!
It's basically a move to an elected dictatorship.

I haven't criticised you at all, just put forward an alternative view, which is fully covered in previous posts. I shan't repeat it all again. It was only my last post which was a bit tongue in cheek about following all the other politicians. 🙂
