Well well.

Oh come on Gransnetters! Biden always was a bit senile and is now clearly very senile, and that's no doubt with the best treatment money can buy. He has never run the country - his 'handlers' have. Now Trump has been turned into the Second Coming through an assassination attempt that was clearly staged in some way. It's all a circus and whoever/whatever is behind this rubbish is who is going to win. As always. Makes no difference whether it's Democrat or Republican very little can be trusted - if anything

I think (hope) Trump will dig his own grave. If Kamala gets in he will have to watch every word he insults her with, thinking racist/misogynistic. He won’t be able to help himself. If another runner gets in, ie Gavin Newsome, then it’s anyone’s race. Hopefully the Democrats.
Ps
Is it just me or was it comedy gold when all Trumps supporters wore a bandage on their ear at his rally?

They were folded sanitary pads. One could say it was appropriate given that they’re all - well, I don’t want to be deleted so you can fill in the word yourselves !!

I live in horror of trump winning and becoming president. The damage he did last time was indescribable. He is a very wicked egotistical excuse for a man who has no respect for women at all . I see world war three looming if he gets power again His help us all

Dillonsgranma Mon 22-Jul-24 14:11:56

God help us all it should say

I think it’s shocking that anyone could think this incident was ‘staged’. A man just behind Trump, in the bleachers, died.
Jeez.

I don't know a lot about American politics but from what I have heard recently and today its really a risk to endorse Kamala because she has not got the American public on her side. I'm not sure if the USA is ready for a female president just yet. Maybe next time. I would prefer it if they didn't elect Trump again but it seems that its possible. If they can get a good PR department behind her and inject some charisma into her presentations maybe she will stand a chance.

I have to say always would vote democrat against republicans even if Bidens performances were cringeworthy. However how anyone could believe/vote or take seriously Trump beggars belief. That self satisfied smile, the way he mouths thank you. The dog whistling, so blatant. I really need to go for a walk!

I know I’m an outlier on GN. Ah well, saves it becoming an echo chamber!
That said,Trump does have millions of supporters (just not here) as does Farage (again, just not on here!).
😁

Anyone thought what might happen if Trump looses and the immediate aftermath😲. I hope the security services are preparing for this eventuality.

winterwhite Mon 22-Jul-24 15:03:33

I wish GN HQ would merge some of these identical threads

Urmstongran Mon 22-Jul-24 15:04:39

Now then Whitewave! Some might call that incitement
😱

Nannynancy Mon 22-Jul-24 15:04:42

Yes, that says a lot though doesn’t it **whitewavemark2

Whitewavemark2 Mon 22-Jul-24 15:08:25

Well imo the security services would not be doing their job if they weren’t preparing. Trump cares nothing for the rule of law.

I dislike Trump in the same way urmston admires him. How anyone could think the assassination attempt was staged is beyond me. One man died, another injured. If Trump hadn’t turned his head it would have been blown off, rather than taking a bit of his ear out.
I’m inclined to think cock up rather than conspiracy but the protection wasn’t good enough .

Casdon Mon 22-Jul-24 15:11:03

Yes, I’ve thought about that Whitewavemark. I think he would incite rioting again, but ultimately I think it would be the end of his political career. It’s what comes after that that is most worrying, whether the republicans can regroup and get voters behind them with more moderate leadership. On a smaller scale the Johnson scenario and aftermath here mirrored what they would go through in the USA.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 22-Jul-24 15:12:16

Still one good thing, the chief perpetrators will still be in prison. Trump won’t have had the opportunity to pardon the insurrectionists and murderer.

Yes - Fox News, CNN, the FBI, are all going down the "Lone shooter - but why wasn't it stopped" route. Social Media no doubt is flooded with all kinds of bizarre theories.

The eulogies for Biden seem a bit misplaced. The two best things he ever did was beat Trump in 2020 and resign now.
But just one word will forever sully any Biden legacy: Gaza

NotSpaghetti Mon 22-Jul-24 15:39:47

Wyllow3 I think his ear was just cut by a piece of broken plastic?

NotSpaghetti Mon 22-Jul-24 15:40:45

It was the poor people behind who really suffered.
