I was very impressed by an Imam speaking on the BBC this morning.
He was handing out food to the would be rioters outside his mosque.
Some were shaking his hand.
He has invited anybody who wants to know about Muslims and what they believe in to the mosque tonight and food will be available.
I felt admiration and at the same time shame that Muslim people are afraid to go out at times like these.

Wow! Well done him.

Just goes to show that ordinary people of every possible background or orientation can come together against far right racist thuggery.
As other countries struggle with far right groups and the US fears Trump’s return at least the UK is now flying the flag for tolerance and compassion.
Starmer may not be everyone’s cup of tea but well done him and the government for guiding us through this storm.
And bravo to the police forces still on high alert. Their efforts have been noted and respect given 👏🏽👏🏽

I think KS and the rest of the gov't, police, court staff etc. have handled this just right, I'm sure the fast tracked court appearances have helped, the judge said their sentence was reduced accordingly for guilty pleas. There must be plenty of people who have thought twice about joining in the riots

Please to see that these people spreading this type of propaganda are being arrested and charged with enticement.

There is no denying that there is a debate to be had about immigration into the U.K., but not at this level of bile and ignorance.

But it’s true! they held an open day at a mosque in Norwich a couple of years ago and, as people rightly said, it would be nice to meet Muslim women too in order to get a balanced view.
