Why did the International Organisation for Migration help to sent 40 Afghan schoolgirls to Rwanda in 2023 if it’s so awful.
Taking into account these are vulnerable young girls.
And, they are doing very well.

If you were an Afghan girl, you might well be a lot better off almost anywhere, including Rwanda, than in Afghanistan under the woman-despising Taliban.

I’m not proposing it though ronib, it’s the brainchild of Germany and we have no detail at all on how it might work. Can you not see the merit of asylum claims being processed in Africa, or in or near to peoples home countries?

Africa is a very big continent and there will be many dangers faced in getting to Rwanda for the migrants, but if they’re determined and careful they will surely get there but I can’t help thinking they won’t want to.Also it’s still asking migrants to go to Rwanda to have claims processed which they will see, rightly or wrongly as them never being accepted in a European country.

It may be worth noting that Rwanda is a very beautiful country and a couple of people I have come across feel it is also very safe. They said it was ‘safer than Britain’ I have never been there, personally, so I can’t judge but maybe they are right ? I wouldn’t think the Germans would even consider using it if it was unsafe.

It isn't German policy as things stand, it still remains the suggestion of one minister to the government, which will have to alter German Law to make it possible, and there are no details of "how they will get there" and so on.
