Hezbollah Exploding Pagers!

(231 Posts)
GrannyGravy13 Wed 18-Sept-24 08:36:12

9 dead (so far) up to 3,000 Hezbollah operatives injured across Lebanon and Syria.

Apparently the pagers were manufactured in TaiWan and packed with explosives. The Taiwanese producers are vehemently denying this.

Israeli Government is being rather quiet, no statement so far. Hezbollah have said that there will be serious repercussions

It is like a plot from a Johnny English film…

I wish too that everyone remain safe, because most people wherever they live, whoever they are, just want a peaceful life for themselves and their families.
Sadly too many people have already died in violent and cruel ways and the loss and trauma almost guarantees that the next generation grow up and become radicalised. Why wouldn't they after what they have lost.
And so it continues…..

Agree.
Nobody is born wanting to kill others. Sadly some are born into such unbearable oppression and suffering that they feel the only way is violence. And maybe we could say hand on heart we wouldn’t resort to this in similar conditions, or could we? Thankfully the majority of us will never know.

Hundreds of thousands of people have fled southern Lebanon to escape Israeli bombs

The Guardian, despised by many.

Think about it, hundreds of thousands. They can't all be Hezbollah.

How much more out of control can Israel get? Now Jordan have issued a warning not to cross that regions border, but Netanyahu is a madman so he'll ignore any warnings.

Netanyahu advised people to leave Southern Lebanon yesterday.

I do not agree with everything he does, but at least he is giving people a chance, Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorists do not give warnings of their atrocities.

Unfortunately the Israelis are playing right into the hands of Iran, it’s their regime we should be worried about.

(I know the IRA did Gove coded warnings)

paddyann54 Wed 25-Sept-24 19:46:53

Phillipa60 so you deny that Israel has been targeting Palestinians for over 60 years ? The propaganda from the Israeli state is indeed thorough but without a doubt it is wrong .I marchwith pro Palestinians and have done for decades…many who march areof the Jewish faith.THey are vehemently against the states policies of landgrabbingand forcing out Palestinian families or the over 2000 Palestinian children in Israeli jails ,some for throwing STONES at tanks .I think the world is beginning to weary of the victim mentality of SOME Jews the people alive today cannot and should not be held responsible for the holocaust. to make them suffer is downright wicked.Palestinian children are as important as Israeli children.I am NOT antisemitic. But I am anti the right wing vicious Israeli state

It doesn’t help giving warnings to people who have nowhere to hide. He does no one any favours apart from saving his own worthless hide from standing trial for crimes he is accused of.
Netanyahu is an absolute disgrace.

It's actually a pretty clever idea but shame it had to get to that.

Wyllow3 Wed 25-Sept-24 20:38:29

They not only warned some people in Gaza to move out of Rafah, but told them where to go to be safe.
They then attacked the area.

Many examples from this time:

200,000 displaced Israeli citizens have had to leave Northern Israel in the north near the border.Think about that too.

I wish people would realise that the Lebanese people are controlled by Hezbollah . They are in the parliament and if they decide to do something they just do it regardless f the consequences . I know people who live there and they loath Hezbollah . At times they have closed the airport and when I ask why the reply is ' Because they can " . No reason to do it at all they are just showing their strength.

Wyllow3 Wed 25-Sept-24 21:36:50

But is it wise to attack Lebanon to the extent that the many Lebanese who do not support Hezbollah now face what many must fear happened in Gaza?

If you vote in a terrorist organisation to government, that's what they are. Palestinians and Lebanonese people will have to live with their decision

There is exaggerated propaganda on both sides you can’t believe any of it, virtually nothing can be verified

Philippa60 Thu 26-Sept-24 05:58:33

I think it is 100,000 Israelis evacuated from the north, but if it's important to you I can check.
Again: Israel does not target civilians. Full stop.
Israel is a western democracy with a robust judiciary, democratic parliament, superb medical, hi-tech and other industries. It is a liberal country where you can be gay, straight, Jewish, Arab, Christian and you have full and equal rights.
Hizbollah is a terror organization reigning terror not only on Israel but on the citizens of Lebanon.
If you cannot see the difference, I despair of trying to convince you, my friends.

60,000 was the figure given on this mornings Today programme.

Unbelievable really.

Galaxy Thu 26-Sept-24 08:18:40

Sshh Philippa dont you know those sort of things arent important in the hierarchy of oppression. When people are wanting to be seen as virtuous the ideals that they used to think important (not killing gay people for example) can be jettisoned without a backward glance.

Please tell us on here what chance Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists gave and/are giving Israeli civilians?

“A 21-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah is set to be implemented “in the coming hours” along the Israel-Lebanon border, senior officials have reportedly said.

It comes as Britain, the United States and other allies on Wednesday jointly called for an immediate truce to allow for negotiations in the escalating conflict that has seen more than 600 people killed in Lebanon in recent days.

The ceasefire would effectively halt a possible Israeli ground operation in Lebanon, which has raised global alarm.

According to Sky News, a US administration official said: “The ceasefire will be for 21 days along the blue line (demarcation line dividing Lebanon from Israel and the Golan Heights).

“During those 21 days, the parties will negotiate towards a potential resolution of the conflict that has been ongoing since Hezbollah launched the attack on October 8, and to reach a comprehensive agreement along the blue line that allows for residents to return to their home in both Lebanon and Israel.”

The ceasefire is expected to be put in place along the northern border only and would not extend to Gaza.”
