9 dead (so far) up to 3,000 Hezbollah operatives injured across Lebanon and Syria.

Apparently the pagers were manufactured in TaiWan and packed with explosives. The Taiwanese producers are vehemently denying this.

Israeli Government is being rather quiet, no statement so far. Hezbollah have said that there will be serious repercussions

It is like a plot from a Johnny English film…

I think it is 100,000 Israelis evacuated from the north, but if it's important to you I can check.
Again: Israel does not target civilians. Full stop.
Israel is a western democracy with a robust judiciary, democratic parliament, superb medical, hi-tech and other industries. It is a liberal country where you can be gay, straight, Jewish, Arab, Christian and you have full and equal rights.
Hizbollah is a terror organization reigning terror not only on Israel but on the citizens of Lebanon.
If you cannot see the difference, I despair of trying to convince you, my friends.

Philippa60 the BBC News last night reported on Israeli towns in the north near the border with Lebanon which are practically deserted because of the constant rocket and sniper attacks by Hezbollah on Israel.

The BBC also broadcast the horrifying testimonies of some who escaped the atrocities by drugged-up Hamas terrorists at the music festival, the anniversary of which approaches.

The news is not all one-sided here.

It's also worth remembering some of the aims of groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah and their intolerance of groups of people.
I try to keep a balanced view; many Israelis do not support Netanyahu who seems hell-bent on revenge at any cost.

I can feel for all the innocent people on all sides in this conflict.

Stay safe.

Believe me I hate war and long for a ceasefire, both on our north and south borders. However, the idea of a 3 week ceasefire with nothing in return doesn't sit well with many Israelis. It sounds like all it will do is give Hizbollah 3 weeks to re-group following the serious losses they have had.
A ceasefire in return for Hizbollah finally accepting US Resolution 1701 and moving north away from our border as mandated, a return of all our hostages in Gaza? Absolutely 100% yes, ceasefire now!
But not sure what it means to ceasefire without either of these provisions?
Does it make sense to anyone else?
Have Hizbollah suddenly agreed to stop firing missiles into the whole of Israel (not just the north any more)?
Or do we just give them a 3-week break and then it all starts up again?
No-one wants this nightmare to end more than me, I can assure you. But right now I simply don't understand what's going on.
I truly hope that Biden, Macron and other leaders in the international community know what they are doing
