Good.
I thought it had been swept under the carpet. T2 at Manchester airport this summer when a WPC had her nose broken.

It’s clear from the video that they should have been jailed immediately without bail and prosecuted. Something is very wrong here.

At least Farage now has a home in his own constituency, not quite Clacton, just outside the “gates” in Frinton, which is still in his constituency, where he’s joined the Frinton Cricket Club, where he’s been a few times, maybe these folks don’t scare him as it appears holding surgeries does!

Excellent. I hope they set up a crowdfund

Fools and their money are easy parted comes to mind. Anyone who thinks that crowd funding is the way to achieve a criminal prosecution needs to educate themselves into how the British legal system works.

The system is clogged and this case will be dealt with in due course. Covid and serious underfunding over the previous decade have all contributed to the frustratingly slow process, but be sure, giving money to the Reform party is not the way to sort it out.

karmalady, the process will take time, as has been stated . A private prosecution may follow an outcome from the justice system, not precede it.I would not want money to buy queue jumping in the courts - would you?

If you read the guidance from the CPS, it doesn’t look as though a case they have already taken on will be allowed to proceed to a private prosecution, they would have to agree to that happening, which they won’t do as it’s already in progress.

I still think it’s smoke and mirrors from Reform.

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that there’s a huge divide between those of us who have some understanding of and faith in our CJS and those who dont

Agreed. Neither Farage nor Tice are stupid, they know how the justice system works; this grandstanding illustrates their opinion of their supporters. Like it or not, we live in a democracy, and everyone, irrespective of their race, religion, ethnicity, or guilt, is entitled to a fair trial in a court of law, not the court of public opinion with video clips provided by the press as evidence of guilt.

The accusations of "two-tier-policing" - which is really what this is all about - really does not help our police force who are under enormous pressure both from funding and recruitment problems.

Not knowing what they are going to face when they are called out, whether it's a minor fracas or a major event - by an agitated and dissatisfied public, just puts them in more physical danger.

How many reports do you read of both ambulance staff and police being either verbally abused or physically attacked when attending an incident. Those notices in hospitals about abuse not being tolerated are there for a reason.

This action will not make life any easier for the police or emergency responders.

It's a publicity stunt and rabble rousing.

Farage would be better occupied holding some surgeries in Clacton and actually doing his job. He lied that he'd been advised to not hold surgeries due to security issues, got caught out and is now back tracking on his story.

Wyllow3 Wed 09-Oct-24 13:07:04

All predictable - You'd think that Reform might actually try and be involved in the day by day discussions and debate in parliament -so much going on atm re social and economic policies -

and instead, they are grandstanding on this racially motivated suggestion, which as we have seen, has little to do with how our CPS actually operates - and hiding matters in Clacton.

Farage and Tice are also aware of sub judice and know any MP should not involve themselves in current or impending court cases. This could backfire in their faces and the perpetrators could get off scot free.

I thought the same thing - and if they did, you can guess how that would be interpreted by those determined to insinuate that the law is biased.

Wyllow3 Wed 09-Oct-24 14:28:36

I doubt that will happen.

I do hope this ridiculous grandstanding doesn’t interfere with justice. No doubt if it somehow disrupted the process, Farage would be delighted

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 10-Oct-24 21:33:48

I’m sure Reform aren’t cogitating this all by their own big selves. They will be taking expert legal advice.

Wyllow3 Thu 10-Oct-24 21:50:46

They weren't that clear! Your heading and your O/P are both inaccurate:

"It’s clear from the video that they should have been jailed immediately without bail and prosecuted. Something is very wrong here".

1. Since they pleaded not guilty when arrested, this could not happen as it has to go to CPS.

2. As regards you title, they cannot contemplate a prosecution until they know if the CPS will charge or not. The accusation of being "thrown under a bus" is inaccurate, the case is with the CPS.
