made me sob - and I’m tough

Family Court judges make difficult calls all the time (I know one, so I know this.)

But they must take responsibility for their judgment if it goes catastrophically wrong, as it did in this case. This judge apparently believed this little girl would be better off, safer, in the care of a man who tortured her to death. Whilst we can’t ever know the reasons why he/she made such a decision, it would be nice to know that the judge was answering to some sort of authority as to why this decision was made. With such a decision having been made, is this person’s judgment sound?

Family court judges can be manipulated by seemingly charming evil men.

A child was tortured then murdered while two other adults in the house were aware, stood by and took no steps to prevent it. Those three adults are the ones responsible for the murder.

People do voice their suspicions, people do investigate, much time and money is spent, and they are fobbed off time and time again by manipulative parents and the mantra that the family bond must be supported above all else.

So easy to say what you would do when you are not there.

The other two adults have been charged with murder too. Evidence has been presented to the court consistent with the step mother having inflicted injuries too.

I gather she refused to take a 'bite test' to match the bite marks on the child's body. Neither of the men's teeth matched.
God, what an awful thing to write.)

Oh God. That poor wee thing. What a desperately miserable life she must have led.

I hope all three are sentenced to whole life without parole. I’m not comfortable saying this, but it would be gratifying to think that even if they are kept in solitary conditions to protect them from other inmates, prison officers might occasionally turn a blind eye.

She must have spent the last years of her short life in desperate pain and terrified.

Poor little girl, why was her mother not awarded custody?

Allira Thu 17-Oct-24 14:50:21

She had internal injuries too, it was reported yesterday.
How, who?

maddyfour Thu 17-Oct-24 17:35:40

It’s not surprising that she had internal injuries given the extent of the obvious, physical injuries. That poor child, words fail me.

why was her mother not awarded custody?

I doubt we’ll ever know as Family Court judgements are private, and never open to the public. I do hope the judge concerned is called to give an account of him/herself with regard to this case. I doubt that will happen though, but I will make enquiries of someone I know who will know.

I’ve been reading some of the trial reports in the press. I’m beyond shocked and horrified about the torture, terror, abuse and fear this child endured before her body and soul finally gave up.

The 3 adults continue to blame each other. I’m not hang and flog em but, I don’t see why all 3 shouldn’t be held at his majesties pleasure until they die
