I have read that just building toilets (not even ones just for women) in some rural villages in Africa has lessened the number of girls and women assaulted or raped. When they had to go out into the bush, they were vulnerable to predatory men.

Oh those bloody predatory men, perhaps instead of women having to feel fear and distrust all their lives either peeing in the bush or using women only spaces that could be breached, those bloody predatory men should be dealt with in he societies they live in and boys should be brought up not to be a bloody predatory man.

After reading this OP I'm beginning to think that some people should have the Sapiens part deleted from their definition.

I just think it’s a silly phrase Doodledog even it’s a PC one.
Males with or without penises are still men but can be called, indeed are called trans women.Still sounds better than women with penises in my book.

If we don't want to use the accurate term 'trans identified males' then can we use transwoman which is a noun that denotes such a male. Using separate words trans becomes an adjective to describe a woman just like short, red-haired etc and men can never be any type of woman.

It was deliberately set that way round because logically a transgender woman would be a woman who identified as a man, but the men wouldn't have got to use the word woman, and would have been trans men.

Oh I think there would be Jackiest it's an ego trip for so many, makes them feel special to tag themselves with an obscure label. It will pass eventually.
It started with the non binary which surely should have sufficed, but that got too mainstream so more had to be invented.

As far as I am concerned people can call themselves what they want, as long as they do not attempt to force other people to accept their identification. It is when people are forced to accept these ridiculous definitions, 'he won't use my pronouns' that the trouble starts, and some unfortunate people are victimised and lose their jobs because of it.

I agree eazybee if you must choose your own pronoun, don't complain if someone doesn't use it.

Rosie51 I think it is only an ego trip because we make it one. If it is accepted that men and women can all act and do the same things and we have the same expectations from both and treat both identically then the only thing they can gain is using the women's changing rooms then that is not really something they can argue for on its own.

Simple: women do puberty, menstruation,birth (optional), menopause.
