Class Act.

I find I’ve warmed to King Charles.
And I hope Trump wins the US presidential election.

eazybee Fri 25-Oct-24 09:41:13

King Charles I like, and I am beginning to think perhaps the late Queen should have stepped aside (not down) sooner, but Trump!
Why?

madalene Fri 25-Oct-24 09:48:39

I don’t think things will ever be as ‘sane’ again. The world is in upheaval, two wars raging, Trump probably going to be President, the EU not quite knowing which direction to go in, the Commonwealth unhappy, and don’t let’s even mention the UK.

merlotgran Fri 25-Oct-24 09:51:28

You can’t put the words sane and Trump in the same sentence!

Two class acts. Obama's quiet, peaceful, intelligent language shines out like a long gone beacon in the madness of Trump's violent rhetoric, threats, and lies.

Anyone who wants Trump to win must be in need of therapy 🤣🤣

Fried green tomatoes.......
Why!? Trump not sane.

jasper16 Fri 25-Oct-24 10:21:47

What do people like about Trump? Please anybody?

It's probably very superficial but I like the Obamas. I like their humour, their humanity, their intelligence, their love for their family.

As I say, no great incites into politics. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Queen, it was sad to see her battling on.It reminded me of my mother.

And let's not forget this man

It was good while it lasted with neutral independant countries as a buffer with the new Russia but the EU and NATO decided that all of them should be recruited, Ukraine was the last straw.

Back when things were sane? When was that then?

Perhaps they could take Trump along with them! 😂😂

eazybee Fri 25-Oct-24 10:54:11

My perception is that the buffer states saw the rising threat from Putin sooner than the complacent West and sought to join NATO of their own volition, for protection.

henetha Fri 25-Oct-24 10:54:55

I simply cannot comprehend why anyone would want to vote for Trump. Surely not? He is just awful, in my opinion.
Other opinions are available... grin

Michelle is a big wumman, isn’t she?

I, too, cannot understand how anyone can take Trump seriously, but many Americans seem to do just that. I was a bit worried yesterday when I found myself agreeing with him that people came in two genders, and he would not allow men to compete in women’s sport!

That's a rather cynical view of these countries.

They should have the right to choose, not be battered into being part of a new USSR, starting with Ukraine.

Grantanow Fri 25-Oct-24 16:57:06

Re the OP, would that have been at the time of the Flintstones?

David49 Fri 25-Oct-24 17:48:17

Cynical for sure, all they had to do was stay neutral, it was not to be, now it’s going to be a long haul to end, I was surprised by the attendance at the BRICS meeting, Russia is far from isolated.

This is why people need to look past the person and concentrate on his policies. He is right about so many things. Too often choice is based on personality. It should be about politics.

Strikes me Trump did far too much inciting in January 2021

The Trump supporters I have come across tend to be very conservative, Bible believing Christians. He courts them, he knows that is where his vocal support is - in the pulpits down South. I would guess many churches would support him from the pulpit.

Dreadful spelling, apologies and appreciate the help.
