Oh dear the crazy Americans seem to of voted in his favour yet again . A former president now with a criminal background . Could be reelected 50% to Kamala’s 49%
Not quite there yet, however . Get ready for yet more of his manic speeches
Cannot wait for his bat crazy eating garbage orange faced triumphant speech , he’s expected on stage very soon .

So how will the White House staff manage a president who is displaying every indication of edging towards dementia but has been mandated to have access to the nuclear button?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 06-Nov-24 07:35:03

Well I’m delighted. 🤩
Congratulations Mr. Trump. You’ve shocked the naysayers.
There will be howls now (think Brexit here). Some people only like democracy when their side wins.

Let's wait and see if he gets in,seems the sensible thing to do. He can't just go into the nuclear housing and press a button off his own back you know. There are huge safe guards against this happening.

Democracy is about accepting the majority vote, it's perfectly ok not to like the result and to discuss it, that's a benefit of living in a democracy IMO

FriedGreen I could not agree more! Well done Mr Trump! Well done the American people!

Bizarre and dangerous days ahead for the whole world.
At least Netanyahu and Putin will be celebrating.

They have experience with a demented President.
I don’t believe he has dementia though.

Listening to Trump rambling on talking about himself just now only confirms my concern for the USA and the World. I wish you well America with your choice.

LaCrepescule Wed 06-Nov-24 07:55:58

I’ve been following the election closely but will now have to switch off from it. The sight of that man is not good for my well-being but I feel sorrier for democratic supporters in the US who will have to live with him for the next 4 years. At least he won’t run again in 2028.

I thought people warning about the end of democracy were exaggerating but now I think they were right. A dismal day for the world.

Soooo glad I was wise enough not to have children.

JudyBloom Wed 06-Nov-24 07:59:05

Thank Heavens Trump won! America has spoken, things can only get better.

Congratulations Elon Musk - you finally managed to buy The White House........

I feel physically sick. Misogyny, racism, criminality, hatred, violence, ignorance and conspiracy theories all elevated and revered. I'm done with Gransnet goodbye.

Spot on here! This isn't about democracy, it's about rampant and uncontrolled capitalism.

I feel sick that a supposedly intelligent nation could vote this bumbling old man in again.

Where now? Chaos and mess. Yes, Putin will be in his element along with Netanyahu and that truly odious man, Nigel Farage.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 06-Nov-24 08:11:29

I also felt sick in my stomach as I turned the tv on to see the Trump camp celebrating and partying.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 06-Nov-24 08:12:13

So much hyperbolic nonsense on here already.
Not unexpected to be honest.
I shall withdraw. This is not ‘discussion of a democratic vote’ foxie it’s silly character assassination. No reasoning when comments are so febrile.

Does being nasty give you some kind of pleasure?

Victory for Trump has been declared. I don’t think Harris can catch him. I’m not surprised. Biden had long lost the plot, and Harris has been so inept as VP. The Democrats need to pick better candidates next time.

Why? What do you think the American people have achieved?

Exactly! Unfortunately, it seems some people don't actually understand the concepts of democracy or free speech.

MissInterpreted Wed 06-Nov-24 08:19:35

I will never understand how even one person can vote for that vile piece of **, never mind millions. America, you disgust me!
