Oh dear the crazy Americans seem to of voted in his favour yet again . A former president now with a criminal background . Could be reelected 50% to Kamala’s 49%
Not quite there yet, however . Get ready for yet more of his manic speeches
Cannot wait for his bat crazy eating garbage orange faced triumphant speech , he’s expected on stage very soon .

Not good news for UK and Europe. Trump may pull out of NATO which would put us in danger from Russia and others.

He’ll take America out of the Paris Climate agreement, too, as he did before.

Bizarre and dangerous days ahead for the whole world.
At least Netanyahu and Putin will be celebrating.

I totally agree. The world will be on pins for the next four years. Sad days indeed.

He may well go for a third term

Has anyone read 'The Dead Zone' by Stephen King or seen the film? Greg Stillson seems positively sane in comparison with Trump.

Lord above! Keir Starmers congratulation message to Trump has just been featured on BBC Radio.......talk about crawling sycophancy and the reference to The Special Relationship was nothing short of oily, clumsy and embarrassing.

I feel physically sick. Misogyny, racism, criminality, hatred, violence, ignorance and conspiracy theories all elevated and revered. I'm done with Gransnet goodbye.

I share your feelings Greyisnotmycolour: but not everyone agrees with the Trump supporters on GN. Don't go.

Democracy in the USA is a double-edged sword. It gives the right to vote but cannot prevent a convicted criminal with a mental health problem from standing for office.
"Spin" has taken over politics, and truth is sidelined. Let us hope there are some wise people with kindness in their hearts who can help to guide this ship for all our sak

MissInterpreted Wed 06-Nov-24 08:34:55

Whatever you think of Trump himself, it actually beggars belief that a convicted felon is even allowed to run for office. I can't get my head around that at all.

Please grey we need people like you. It is utterly sickening. And the crowing from people here.
For the Love of God, What is wrong with you?

What else could he do? If he said what he really thought, where would that leave the UK? He has to protect our interests. I am sure the words were sticking in his throat, but he has done his duty.

Visgir1 Wed 06-Nov-24 08:38:53

Well.. Trump's back! there is Hope for Boris 😅

jasper16 Wed 06-Nov-24 08:39:17

Politely please, somebody tell me what they like about him and his policies?

Grovelling at best, but he won't be able to send that clown Lammy to do any diplomacy.

Babs03 Wed 06-Nov-24 08:43:22

I hope those celebrating know that Trump wants to get rid of NATO, along with Putin. Indeed this morning the consensus is that he will treat his European allies - the UK included - with the same contempt he reserves for China.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 06-Nov-24 08:44:19

The electorate have had their say, it is their decision.

Whether or not GN members agree with them is not going to change anything.

Name calling is not the answer, whatever side of the pond it occurs.

For what it’s worth I think Donald Trump won this election the day he was shot at the rally.

Why should they, the Latino vote seemingly has helped Trumps cause. Seemingly the Americans are saying Harris had no policies.

Congratulations Elon Musk - you finally managed to buy The White House........

Well if Elon Musk has bought the White House then Lord Alli certainly owns No 10.

I think it’s Diplomatic Protocol. I doubt very much if it’s seriously meant.
I cannot fathom why he is returned, God help America. Time will tell. I am another who would like his supporters on here to explain the merits of Trump as the USA president.

Absolutely. I cannot imagine Musk had any effect on the poorest who may have voted for Trump. Wonder if Musk has brought Trump suit and glasses, oh and dresses for Melania??

Of course they " shouldn't". I just feel ( amongst other things) utter incredulity.

I'm wondering what I've missed. Has he got some good ideas I'm not aware of? Are there parts of his personality that make him a good leader?

Exactly. And god help Ukraine now...

Well I’m delighted. 🤩
Congratulations Mr. Trump. You’ve shocked the naysayers.
There will be howls now (think Brexit here). Some people only like democracy when their side wins.

I am delighted too, he seems more friendly towards the UK.

He can’t do that, two terms is all that any President in the U S can serve.
