Oh dear the crazy Americans seem to of voted in his favour yet again . A former president now with a criminal background . Could be reelected 50% to Kamala’s 49%
Not quite there yet, however . Get ready for yet more of his manic speeches
Cannot wait for his bat crazy eating garbage orange faced triumphant speech , he’s expected on stage very soon .

@Mt61 if this only affected the US I would be more than happy for Americans to get the person they voted for, but it affects all of us, I mean it shouldn’t but thanks to US influence around the world it most certainly does.

👏👏👏👏👏

I agree with others, Starmer is joining all other world leaders in congratulating Trump. There is no other option.

Cossy adoption is an option.

No women should be forced to go through pregnancy and give birth to a baby if they don’t wish to.

If they choose adoption that’s great, but it’s not a simple as you make it sound, not many queue up for a disabled baby, nor sadly in some states, a black baby!

The Southern states are sadly still contain very racist pockets.

Starmer is simply doing his job. It’s not about his personal feelings!

He may well go for a third term

No. Only two terms are allowed. Plus due to climate change, he will probably be killed in a Maro Lago hurricane then the world will be dealing with crazy Vance.

“Greyisnotmycolour- I feel just the same. To know that some on here actually support him and what he stands for - I just can't do this.”

I agree fleurpepper, although I do feel sorry for many Americans (particularly young women) waking up to this nightmare today. In their country the racist, misogynist bullies now rulesad

Letting men pretending to be women into females toilets & changing rooms.
Letting men compete against women, now that is being misogynistic.
I have no problem at all with transgender issues but it is wrong (until they fully transition) to be entering private female spaces.

I feel physically sick. Misogyny, racism, criminality, hatred, violence, ignorance and conspiracy theories all elevated and revered. I'm done with Gransnet goodbye.

Goodbye 👍🏻

Well I’m delighted. 🤩
Congratulations Mr. Trump. You’ve shocked the naysayers.
There will be howls now (think Brexit here). Some people only like democracy when their side wins.

I think that’s a very unfair and untrue assertion!

Funny though how both the USA election and Brexit were win on the back of limited information or lies!

It is democracy in action, I agree, but if you support Trump or think Brexit benefited us, then we simply need to agree to disagree smile

I’ve been following the election closely but will now have to switch off from it. The sight of that man is not good for my well-being but I feel sorrier for democratic supporters in the US who will have to live with him for the next 4 years. At least he won’t run again in 2028.

Just like us in the uk living under starmer

Don’t go, greyisnotmycolour, it’s not all of us who feel happy Trump is POTUS.

Mt61 Your response was both childish and spiteful! No need for that at all!

You know what you will get with him but Harris was the great unknown. I think that is why she lost, all she did was whinge and screech. A pity they didn’t find a better candidate. If I was American I would have voted for Trump . For the rest of us - not so good because he will always put the US first and sod the rest of the world. Things won’t be easy.

Lord above! Keir Starmers congratulation message to Trump has just been featured on BBC Radio.......talk about crawling sycophancy and the reference to The Special Relationship was nothing short of oily, clumsy and embarrassing.

Arse & licking come to mind 🤣

ronib Wed 06-Nov-24 10:51:05

We have 5 years of Starmer - Trump at the moment is four years.
Rory Stewart was completely adrift on the USA results ….

Cossy Wed 06-Nov-24 10:52:32

Mt61 Absolutely nothing like having to put up with Starmer for 4 years! Many of us suffered greatly under 14 years of Tory rule, but even that pales into significance compared to some in the USA and the new POTUS!

Were you asleep during his last “reign”?

Did you miss him ridiculing the disabled? Eroding women’s rights? Mistreating migrants? Committing felons? Encouraging insurrection?

nanna8 Wed 06-Nov-24 10:53:12

You could always get rid of him you know! Been done before.

nanna8 Wed 06-Nov-24 10:53:33

Starmer,that is.

I would NEVER have voted for Trump, I may simply not have voted.

I didn’t see or hear Kamala “whinge” or “screech”

Don’t go ‘greyisnotmycolour’, we need your voice on here, especially in the coming months/years, as we navigate through the tough times ahead.
Take a break but don’t leave, you’ll be missed. 😞

Name calling as well.
Nice.

Mt61 I don’t know how you can profess to care about women’s rights and, at the same time, support Trump.

Do you care nothing about American women’s rights?

merlotgran Wed 06-Nov-24 11:00:23

Where does this leave Prince Harry and his admission of drug taking?

I don’t think Trump likes him very much.

Yes when it comes to women only private spaces & ladies sports!
