I agree with abortion for rape, medical conditions, too old, etc, but I don’t agree to abortions, being used as a form of contraception- no! & surely it has to be voted in by congress?

Unfortunately, leaders of countries have to deal with all other leaders, on behalf of their country. It's called diplomacy.
As a Republican, I acknowledge that our monarchs have managed this very well over the years. Perhaps their views, in private, might have been more robust, but their public face did not slip.

When your poor and your food/fuel bill goes up every week you can’t afford principles. Americans had more dollars in their pockets last time round.

Superficially I think Biden was a disaster and KH was parachuted in too late.

I can see why if you are broke and struggling, you are going to go for the guy who appears to be on your side.

During his first term in office did things improve for the American people?

I dont like the man but two things about Trump's policies I do admire:-

Putting your own country first and not being so liberal about supporting third world causes or warlords.

His policy on immigration with mass departations and internments.

Too many tax dollars flowing out of the county or being squandered on aliens who have contributed nothing to the community. I wish we had a government which had the guts to take a similar stance.

Sadly the Democrats have brought this on themselves and on America, and possibly on the rest of us. They hung on to an elderly man who clearly has either dementia or something similar, for far too long. They they parachuted Harris in at a late stage in the proceedings. I wondered if she was electable when that was done, and so it turns out, she wasn’t.

The Democrats need to choose better next time. They need to take stock and reflect on what they did wrong.

Mt61 are you aware of the current abortion laws in the USA, which are already draconian enough, and Trump will make even more so.

In most states women are left to ‘bleed out’, even if that means to their death because a doctor cannot stop the bleeding if it means harming the foetus.

Medical practitioners are avoiding going into gynaecology & obstetrics because, if they harm a foetus, they can lose their license to practice. There’s already a shortage in these professions - professions specifically for the good of women.

Rape, incest, death of the woman count for nothing.

Apparently more women voted for Trump than expected. That troubles me as a woman. I cannot for a nanosecond understand their mindset. A man who states that he is going to protect women whether they like it or not, and supports an antiabortion bill which means that countless women die every year, many younger than 18, does not seem to me to be a safe choice for women.
And his good buddy Musk has very misogynistic views. Fact is Trump was voted in but Musk will be expecting sone return on the millions he invested in the campaign, so he will have Trumps ear.

I can’t say I’m surprised. I’m astonished at how Kamala Harris just appeared to walk into the post when everything I had read about her said how unpopular and useless she was as Vice President.

Flouncing is what people do on forums, except they rarely do really, just go quiet for a week then start posting again . Those who are serious about going just go.In any case, leaving cos you don’t like another poster commenting about say, how great DT is, well that’s a strange reaction on an opinions forum.
