Very glad to read your posts, Casdon: yes, the best way is to pull advertising and stop using. We need effective alternative platforms very badly.

I don't know the law well as regards pulling individual posts, ie those which deliberately and openly advocate violence ie clearly break UK law

We don’t have a special relationship. At least we think we do but America thinks otherwise. It was pointed out on TRIP’s that America has a ‘special relationship’ with several countries and were no more ‘special’ than the other ones.

Well that’s the truth, but politicians trot it out ad nauseam, backed up by endless posts in the media.

Even so, spurious Special relationships don’t usually involve being two faced about what you say about anyone involved in it.

Over many decades we constantly hear senior politicians talking about our ‘special relationship’ with the USA. I wonder if their politicians and population even know about this very special relationship we share. I rather think not.
As for Trump. I don’t follow his every word but generally speaking his behaviour is disconcerting and can only hope he has and keeps, more sensible and intelligent people round him to rein him back from making potentially dangerous decisions.

Putting your own country first and restrictin the amount of money flowing out to third world causes.

Restricting immigration and being hard on those who enter illegally.

Being “hard” on those who enter by illegal means.

Could you just outline to us what legal means Asylum Seekers can enter the UK in order to claim Asylum?

In particular from countries like Syria and Afghanistan ?

There are legal ways to come from both of those countries, 4 ways in fact. Easily looked up. Those that have the money just jump the queue, from a non war torn country, the EU.

The legal ways are severely limited, and no substitute for 'The right to seek asylum'.
The resettlement scheme only applies to Afghans who have worked for the UK government,
Syrians cannot apply for asylum unless they are already in the UK. Their is no visa for asylum seekers.
Also, according to international law, there is no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker and they cannot be penalised for entering a country irregularly.

The same people who choose to ignore the fact that it was Elon Musk who stepped in and offered SpaceX satellites to Ukraine when Russia knocked the Ukrainian internet/ communication system out.

I share Wyllow's disquiet about the politicisation of the judiciary and the civil service.
For all of their faults, both of these ( very important) establishments here are impartial, and take a certain pride in being equally helpful and exasperating, in turn, to whomever is in government at no 10.
I prefer my court system to be unmoved by bribes and/or threats, whether from miscreants or the current power holders.

Who has said they don’t agree with anything Trump has said he will do JenniferEccles? Surely the rational person takes a balanced view. Saying you don’t agree with him on most issues is not the same as disagreeing with everything.

Actually I don't know. I don't think they're hemorrhaging users, people's use of social media changes constantly, Face book has gone through the same, without threats from EU regarding this media, which can be just as toxic. I don't use X. To threaten to block it because they don't like the owner, well I've already said what I think.
