My new MP needs to go back to school!

It was very kind of my MP to send a Christmas card to me, and no doubt all his constituents. Inside was a printed handwritten letter from him.
Since when was Christmas written with a small C? 3 times over, once even at the beginning of a new sentence.
Surely they have secretaries to check what the MP writes?

What a pleasure to receive a copy of a handwritten letter.

Did you reply asking him if he was enjoying keeping warm with the heating costs Parliament awards all MPs while the rest of us go cold?

This thread has certainly made me chuckle! 🀣🀣

It's made me 😁 too

"llizzie2"
MPs from constituencies out of London can claim back on expenses their heating costs for their consituency office or on their accommodation in London, which tbh seems reasonable. If they live in London or have to live in government accommodation ie PM or Chancellor of the Exchequer they pay for their energy like everyone else.

1) I only see one small C
2) - you actually got this from your MP? my MP can't even respond to a direct request

I would not be complaining as I've had either no response or a very sparse response from my last 2 MPs.

To be honest Iam64 I think an awful lot of people aren't happy unless they have something to moan about. They, of course, are perfect in every way! wink

Thank you for the compliment, I hadn't actually thought of myself as perfect!

Me too.
One poster has been on this thread 5 times with a comment directed at me! They are obviously far more upset than I ever was by the capital letter issue! πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

Practically Perfect in Every Way

That's me!
Both prim and proper and never too stern,
Well educated yet willing to learn,
I'm clean and honest my manner refined,
And I wear shoes of the sensible kind,
I suffer no nonsense and whilst I remain,
There's nothing else I feel I need to explain.

Has anyone seen the musical, is it on tour yet?

Seriously - are we a nation of moaners these days?
What happened to always looking on the bright side, to the Dunkirk spirit - are we downhearted ???? No we are not - 🎢🎼🎡always look on the bright side of life, de dum de dum

Missed out de dum de dum de dum 😁😍

All of the Christmas Cs look uppercase to me. Compare them to the c in peaceful.

Milest0ne Tue 10-Dec-24 22:10:10

Lucky to get any post delivered. Only had 4 deliveries in the last 2 months. Our last MP used to send an expensive looking news letter showing where he had had his photo taken in the constituency.

Surely the important thing is an attempt to contact the constituents in a fairly informal, more personalised way. Well done that busy mp

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Absolutely.
The post says more about the OP than it does about her/his MP.

I agree with both above.
Dear me! You are lucky to have an MP that bothers to communicate, why so picky?

I suppose it’s the thought & time that counts πŸ€”

Aldom Wed 11-Dec-24 13:49:50

Well, he tried, bless him.

Algeval Wed 11-Dec-24 16:29:47

The C’s all look capital letters to me.

MissAdventure Wed 11-Dec-24 16:59:52

He's Confident, with a capital C.
