Racing up the charts apparently.

I haven’t heard it as yet so must have a listen, it’s a long time since I knew what was in the charts.

Charleygirl5 Sun 15-Dec-24 09:52:59

Should he not share it with Rachel Reeves, as she is under the impression that anybody retired has oodles of spare cash?

Louella12 Sun 15-Dec-24 09:53:45

It's already number 1 in the British iTunes charts

pascal30 Sun 15-Dec-24 10:08:42

Hopefully this will shame them into making some changes and restoring the allowance.. but many pensioners will needlessly suffer.. We were duped.

Is it really? Thanks

Sick , mocking the starving we remember from the news report
and the singers who wanted to help.

MaizieD Sun 15-Dec-24 10:35:37

We've already had a long thread about this

Oh well, here’s another one! I didn’t realise there was another one as I am spending most of my time at the hospital or driving there/back.

Baggs Sun 15-Dec-24 10:51:18

I listened to this this morning as I saw a report that it had reached no.1.

I understand why people made it and good for them.

BUT, the pictures shown were a bit silly: old man outside during snowfal, thick coat but not wearing a hat, several pictures of people supposedly freezing but with bare arms. That sort of stuff.

I think that detracted from the message rather.

Baggs Sun 15-Dec-24 10:51:40

Hope you are OK, primrose.

MissAdventure Sun 15-Dec-24 10:53:13

People can listen to it whilst they're eating their Christmas dinners.

I don't suppose for one minute anyone will though.

Is that a problem for you, Ad?

petal53 Sun 15-Dec-24 10:56:01

Primrose thinking of you flowers

MissAdventure Sun 15-Dec-24 10:56:07

Not on the slightest.
Is my contributing my opinion a problem for you, because I sense that it is, lately?

Baggs Sun 15-Dec-24 10:58:00

No, I just thought I was the ultimate Christmas grump 😅

MissAdventure Sun 15-Dec-24 11:00:00

Ah, well, this time of year brings out my inner Grinch.

Not that I've ever watched it, because it's a Christmas film, and I don't like Christmas.

Baggs Sun 15-Dec-24 11:01:02

In the sense that I can do without Christmas completely. I like the 'holiday' break but other than that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don't resent other people enjoying themselves however they like (within reason, obv.). Do resent other people's expectations in respect of how I should feel about it all: will you have visitors? what will you eat? have you put your xmas tree up? etc etc

That’s wishful thinking, they have no shame 🙄🧐

Shinamae Sun 15-Dec-24 11:04:24

Thank you Primrose for sharing this, I don’t really think it matters if there is another thread 🤷‍♀️ What is the actual problem with that?

MissAdventure Sun 15-Dec-24 11:06:15

I don't mind at all what others want to do.
Good luck, and I genuinely hope they enjoy it (though I expect there are many who don't really, or cover up how hellish there's was)

I don't like virtual whatsitcalled, though, and I think this record is it.

MissAdventure Sun 15-Dec-24 11:08:25

And I don't like not being able to spell, or choose the right "theirs" either.

A wingers truth perhaps. It surprises me that so many who can access the internet to post on here cannot access the help that is readily available.

If any expects to freeze please, please contact your council.

And the Council will refer you to a different dept where nobody answers the phone and when you try again you’ll be number 40 in the queue. If you’re very persistent you’ll get someone to promise they’ll send out a form which will never be delivered. If you’re not losing the will to live by that point and manage to get a form/ phone call they’ll tell you that you’re eligible…..but then do bugger all to actually get money to you.
