My goodness the statement from the Murdoch is extraordinarily damning.
I wonder what it is that they are keen that we don’t hear at a trial.
He has the money, how many who settled out of court has millions ? I am glad the truth won
He was 12 when the newspapers acted illegally towards him and others. Indefensible and inevitably psychologically damaging to him, his family and friends
True, lies are damaging
These papers were one of the main reasons there was so much hate stirred up against him. He walked away from the royal family to get away from the relentless pursuit.
He has never sought privacy ,
He lives a much more private family life than the one he grew up in. Your views on Harry and Meghan are well known Annie. The result of this dispute confirms that Harry was harassed, pursued, exploited and lied about. I’m relieved for him that the outcome is so clear

Indeed, I wonder if his critics would feel the same way if this had been plain old Joe Smith instead?
He grew up a member of the royal family, who in that family
spoke of his growing up ? wrote books gave tv interviews? His
mother exposed him and his brother to the cameras
Now his private life is spoken of frequently, by him

Ohh Annie Bach, I would love to know where you get all your royal Intel from??? Are you a royal insider perhaps or perchance possibly working for MI5?
Actually, I think that the truth is that you believe all the tripe that you
lap-up in the nasty, cruel, bull-baiting tabloid trash???🤔

And how, pray tell, does any of that justify what the Sun did? This case was not about what Harry may or may not have done, but what was done to him (and many others).
It is the many others who must feel so vindicated and grateful that Harry never gave up.
This is what his uncle, Charles Spencer, had to say: "It takes an enormous amount of guts to take on opponents like News Group Newspapers, and great tenacity to win. And it’s just wonderful that Harry fought for - and gained - an apology to his mother. She would be incredibly touched at that, & rightly proud."

Critics of H&M couldn’t compete with such verbal abuse if they wanted to, I certainly do not or would not sink to those
Depths
I am afraid there will always be those who find admitting they were wrong rather difficult and will remain on the wagon dragging Harry through the mud. I always rather liked him and admired his mother too. Harry has a right to speak his own story, not have it spoken for him.
Well said Luninance
Wrong about what ?
Well, at least the rest of us don't have to go through it all in the media now!
🌥
Thank you, Sun, at least you did the right thing this time, giving this cloud a silver lining

Well, you certainly do on a regular basis . Your hounding of Meghan and Harry is tiresome . I am glad you have been called out for it .
Hmm. I read the Murdoch statement and I’m not sure it’s quite the fulsome wondrous apology that the “dragon slayer Harry” thinks it is.
Basically they paid him peanuts, in terms of value of their empire to go away and shut up.
Yes, it’s appalling for the press to have behaved like that and they absolutely deserved to be hauled over the coals for it. However. Unfortunately because Harry destroyed his own family’s privacy, deliberately exposing them to ridicule and humiliation in ‘Spare’ in the most spiteful and repulsive way possible for financial gain, I find it all rather self serving, tawdry and hollow.
Peanuts? The amount of damages hasn’t been disclosed. Do you have inside information as regards the level of damages and the value of the ‘empire’?
Has Prince Harry got what he wanted after tabloid apology?
The BBC understands the settlements to both Prince Harry and former Labour deputy leader Lord Tom Watson have cost NGN more than £10m in pay outs and legal fees.

I criticise yes, if you find my posts tiresome why read them ?
Don't think I would thank the Sun for "doing the right thing now"! Rebekkah Brookes could have been found guilty & sentenced if the trial had gone ahead & other management implicated -not saying she would have been, but there was obviously enough chance of that outcome that the NGN group had to settle.
And the wording of the apology - if it had been any less "generous", I don't think even £10 million would've got Harry,
Tom & their legal team to settle!
It was hacking Millie Dowler's phone that absolutely sickened me - well done to Harry & Tom Watson.

Harry gets so much criticism for everything and anything he does. The lack of empathy is stunning.
He’s been vindicated. GoodHere, here Iam64, Poor Harry & Megan are treated appallingly by the British press. It must be awful to have to live with such rotten annomosity & untruths directed at you and your little family.
Well of course Harry and Meghan know all about rotten animosity and untruths. They’ve directed plenty of their own towards the royal family.

But this ruling has nothing to do with Harry and Meghan as the apology is for press intrusion between 2005 and 2011 - so years before his life with Meghan.
I don't think NGN admitted to anything new did they? It seemed like they apologised for stuff they had already admitted to during the Leveson Inquiry in 2012.
I'm not sure how much Harry will actually get (I expect David - I charge £320,000 a week - Sherborne will get more) as the costs for this case were ridiculous. I believe Hugh Grant settled because it looked like it might cost the plaintiffs £10 million even if they won. British Courts rarely award costs that are considered excessive.
