Even Trump is quite fascinating to watch.
Are you irritating in RL? (light hearted)
How hypocritical of Kier Starmer to have had a voice coach over for lessons during
Tier 4 lockdowns on Christmas Eve!
I am absolutely raging mad that I stuck fast to these lockdown rules, that I hardly saw my parents during these lockdowns, didn’t notice my dad’s dementia because mum always came to the door, couldn’t attend my Aunts funeral, ended up with severe depression & he’s got the gall to put this woman down as a key worker, I thought that was for emergency services, care workers, & shop staff?
What was so urgent that he needed a voice coach on Christmas Eve, he wasn’t even PM?
To think that they gave BJ so much flack, it’s truly unbelievable 😩

The knives are out for Keir. The media hate him for some unknown reason. He's done more for this country in six months than the Tories did in 14 years. Leave him alone please.
This attempt has failed.

Fair enough, no police action will be taken over Starmer's voice coach. I'll accept that.
But I won't leave Starmer's performance today at PM's questions today, when he said, suitcases of food into Downing Street, partying and fighting, vomiting up the walls, leaving the cleaner to remove red wine stains. A little bit exaggerated compared with Sue Gray's report, one staff member was sick, and a minor altercation took place at the event.
At least Kemi Badenoch rose above any verbal retaliation on the subject unlike some others tend to revel in.
I won’t forget it either escaped. It seems he’s had a very lucky escape, but those who live by the sword die by the sword. I hope he remembers that.

He's also done more damage to this country than the Tories ever did. He's disl8ked by most of the country, he's a liar, see his interviews before election. He's selling off our territories, then letting us pay for the priviledge. Destroying business and farming. Making us all poorer. I could go on but the thought of this Gov, sickens me to the stomach.
I don't dislike him.
Me neither. Nor “most of the country”, if the ones I know are anything to go by.

What! 🤣🤣🤣

Now come on!
I am hoping for great things, actually even a string of really good smaller things but the last six months have contained some bad decisions indeed.

The staunch labour supporters I know are now switching to reform.

I like him less than I did😠
I guess at a stretch Starmer could have claimed he needed to speak clearly in order to communicate well, therefore a voice coach was necessary for work. After all, it made a world of difference to Margaret Thatcher's career (you didn't think those dulcet tones were natural, did you?). She just didn't have any lockdowns for people to weaponise....

Apologies Doodledog, I mistook you for another poster always ready with private school digs! My mistake.
I'm not sure it would be possible to have politicians speaking as we would like them to, because some might like a low voice tone (Boris), whereas others might find that bombastic. Personally I think Starner's voice is the a bit
thready if you get what I mean. Thatcher's wax awful, but memorable. The Welsh politicians are the best for me - Neil Kinnock, David Owen of course 👌.
Ah, but I know (and you know) that David Owen was born and bred in Plympton, Devon! 🙂
Not the accent perhaps but that certain Welsh eloquence.
Yes, well worth listening to.
Some people just aren't great orators which is an asset in political leaders.

Ah well. I’m lucky enough not to know anyone who admires Farage.

Same here with Starmer, we were mainly Tory around here.

He needs to ask for his money back as she obviously did a very poor job!

I don’t believe you Mt61. No staunch Labour supporter would ever vote Reform, the belief system is completely opposite. People who had voted Labour but weren’t staunch supporters, yes, but not people who really believed in Labour values.
😆 ha ha Allira.
You can take the boy out of Wales, but you can't take Wales out of the boy's heritage and dulcet tones!
I do identify with Welsh, I feel Welsh, I have no English blood in me at all Lord Owen!

What labour values? My now dead mil was staunch labour, canvasser for the old Labour Party, she would be spinning in her grave if she could see how Britain was being run into the ground now.
It would be quite easy to change your views seeing how they have back tracked on what they said they weren’t going to do-
I dont know why some of these friends have changed their views, I could take a guess though 🤔
You are allowed to change your views, right?
I voted Labour to get Starmer elected as PM. But I'm very disappointed that he accepts no responsibility for, if not actually breaking lockdown rules (which I'd dispute), but definitely breaching the spirit of them. He knew as well as I did that Londoners in tier 4 were compelled to abandon any planned contact with family members at extremely short notice, even though the preparations etc were already in place and excitement had commenced. We were told our sacrifice was essential for the good of the country. He however couldn't sacrifice an in person consult with his voice trainer? That was absolutely imperative, far more important to bring someone from tier 3 into and out of tier 4 for that, than for tier 4 family to see other family members in tier 4. I sacrificed the last Christmas with a relative that died a few days into the New Year. I can't ever get that back. The least he could do is to apologise for a massive error of judgement even if he's too craven to admit guilt. The Met have said any transgression is outside their remit, no prosecution can be made. I've lost a huge amount of respect and will find it very hard to believe him going forward. I thought better of him, I was wrong. For those around the country that enjoyed their permitted Christmas gatherings, perhaps try and put yourselves in the shoes of others in areas of the country who had the rug pulled from under them.

He certainly is if you like the idea that America will stop being a democracy and become an autocracy. I feel more fear than fascination.
