for Ukraine and the whole of Europe.

And will FORCE the UK to choose.

(Capitals do not always represent shouting, but emphasis).

Good grief! If this isn't the brown stuff meeting the ventilation I don't know what is.

Hoping the government keep this stance when Trump visits.

What we need to know, now, from Reform.

Who will they be backing? Ukraine and Europe

or Trump and Putin. We all deserve to know.

And while giving their opinion on Trump and his offensive comments regarding Ukraine, could you ask what Farage thinks about the request that Romania cancel the Tate brothers warrants?

Wyllow3 Thu 20-Feb-25 00:18:06

Yes.

Syracute Thu 20-Feb-25 00:46:40

Sounds like you believe Trump and his ilks viewpoint . Tragic . Maybe you like that he fancies himself a king .

Wyllow3 Thu 20-Feb-25 01:19:28

Not sure who you were talking to Syracute, me or someone else up thread.

I was saying yes to "could you ask what Farage thinks".
If you read upthread you'll see my POV on Trump is very clear indeed.

Being reported that Macron is joining Starmer in his meeting with Trump.

Europe is beginning to close ranks.

Hooray!

Much of which doesn’t need to be done always in person. He likes the jollies and the travel.

Unbelievable! Have you really looked at him of late? He is a tired, exhausted man who is striving to stand up for his country.

Being so tribal that you see no positives in anything Starmer does butters no parsnips wooden spoon.
Badenoch shares Starmer’s views on Ukraine/Trump thankfully, as do the LibDems. We need consensus building at this dangerous time.
I’m no supporter of the Conservative policies seen in the last government but peace in Europe needs people to work together on the many shared values

Europe are closing ranks, so far nobody has committed combat troops, to fight on, we will see what happens next, what worries me is that it’s going to take an army of 100,000 from Europe to retake the occupied land, plus direct attacks on the UK and other countries.

Without the US involved I just don’t see it happening.

David49 I do not think there is any question of European troops supporting the Ukranian army when actively progressing the war.

The intention is that the European force will act as peacemakers as foreign armies have so many times n the past.

They can only act as peacemakers if Russia agrees to end the fighting why would he want todo that, what are you going to give him.

He has already said no NATO troops in Ukraine .

Exactly

Europe as a United force is a threat both to Putin and Trump - obviously for different reasons, but it is clear that they see a good reason to work together I order to weaken Europe.

Iam64 Thu 20-Feb-25 10:48:42

And increasingly it looks like Russia has indeed been busy undermining Britain for years

I was shocked at how white his hair is becoming, and the obvious strain in his face.. He is definitely doing his best and thankfully, if you watch Newsnight, he is being supported cross party..

POTUS and Putin working together will I think unite Europe.

I hope I am right 🤞🏻

I just wonder - seeing as Russia excels at cyber crime and must be using AI - how sure can we be that Trump really won the election. Rumour has it that Putin interfered with our democratic process to make sure Brexit won the day, so is just possible in this day and age that he rigged it for Trump to win, and tbh Musk also has the wherewithal.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Feb-25 11:02:18

Just listening to the radio.

Let Trump stop supplying Ukraine which he fully intends to do.

Europe has something like 200bn€ of frozen Russian money. At the very least use the interest to fund Ukraine - sod Trump.

Iam64 Thu 20-Feb-25 11:19:33

Yes I know MaizieD. My sister laughed when I suggested this several years ago. Even the summer riots didn’t convince her Putin was behind the misinformation behind riots

Iam64 Thu 20-Feb-25 11:21:07

It surprises me that some see Trump as a businessman looking for the best deal

Wyllow3 Thu 20-Feb-25 11:54:57

The BBC I player news has a round up of the front pages of the newspapers every day.

Every single one was angry with Trump's treatment of Zelensky, the accusations he started the war and is a dictator because he won't hold elections under martial law.

I dont think I've ever seen such unity.
