USA dealings with Russia and Farage

Farage was one of the principal people to persuade people to vote Brexit, splitting UK with the EU. He cosied up to the USA and supported Trump’s election. Additionally, Farage is hoping to have money from the USA to back his party in the UK . Considering, what Trump has done by having his team talk to Russia and suggesting to cut up Ukraine as well as taking the rights of ‘rare earth’. What is Farage doing with his US friends? I haven’t heard anything from him yet. What would you hope he will do?

According to the Financial Times Farage has spent today making an appearance at the 'right-leaning Alliance for Responsible Citizenship 'conference. He's been talking to Jordan Peterson on the subject of how important it is to increase the UK birth rate. Farage proposed "very, very big cultural changes to persuade Britons to have children".

So basically he's parroting his pals Trump and Musk.

During their conversation Jordan Peterson described divorcees, single mothers and gay people as “deviations from the norm”.

What would you hope he will do?

Retire quietly.

The thing is he’s not in govt. all this “stuff” he does is not in his remit
His job, first & foremost, is to serve the citizens of Tendring, then to proved good opposition.

The man has an ego so huge he appears to think he is important in the greater good for us all.

How I despise him and all he stands for!

So many people seem to be missing the point. Supporting Reform UK is not about Farage or Richard Tice or anyone else. It's about the public having a way to show their unhappiness with the current political parties. Our country is being destroyed and we want the government to realise that and start putting Britain and British people first.

We haven’t missed the point at all!

Some of us are not taken in by Farage and Tice.

men telling women to have more children?
have we come full circle?

Farage is in Canada, telling them the Brits must have more babies.
Wonder if he ever goes to Clacton?

Highly doubtful!

mum2three It sounds as if you'd welcome a Trump figure here, to make Britain Great Again....

I think it’s crystal clear that there are a few, thankfully a very few, on this site who would welcome a Trump (& presumably a Vance and a Musk) leading our country.

I can only assume these supporters are extremely healthy and wealthy, have no gay or disable or multi-cultural families or close friends.

It seems Farage is a non entity in America despite his Trump worshiping.
Being nearly 80 I am unable to provide more babies. Sorry Nigel.

It’s obvious why Farage went to Canada. There is a lot of unrest there Re immigration.
Once upon a time Ken Clarke a very respected politician praised Farage.
In the house he claimed that Farage was the most successful politician of my generation
He also praised his campaigning abilities.

Llamedos13 Wed 19-Feb-25 12:46:24

If he is here in Canada I haven’t seen or heard anything about him,I wonder what he’s doing here.

Nothing good you can be sure

mokryna Wed 19-Feb-25 13:14:51

What is his view on the Ukraine, that the country is a waste of money?

I don't think that acknowledging a person's strengths is the same as praising them, *petra'.

It could equally be warning others of them and suggesting that 'others' find a way to thwart their aspirations.

He is respected because he is honest and truthful. Farage was very successful regarding Brexit and he is a clever campaigner. Having said that I’m pretty sure that Ken Clarke loathed and despised him.

MayBee70 Farage didn’t tell the public that the Red Double Decker Bus with that sum of money wouldn’t reach the NHS He let people believe what they saw

Farage can stop campaigning now - he's got the job and there won't be another election for a while.

His job now is to represent his constituents.

Is he being successful at that? Is anyone praising him for the good he's doing for Clacton?

I haven't heard any Reform views on Ukraine.
Anyone?

mokryna Wed 19-Feb-25 22:12:21

No, and the Ukraine situation is so sad.

nanna8 Wed 19-Feb-25 22:24:50

I’d guess Farage won’t get involved with the Ukraine situation whilst he is busy building support in the UK. He is savvy enough to keep out of that one, I’m sure.

He and his ilk are involved in ways that most people don’t know about. He’s like an iceberg, there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface.

Claremont Wed 19-Feb-25 22:46:28

What we need to know about Reform, and fast- is in case of a real conflict/war even- will they support Trump and Putin, against Europe.

We deserve an answer.

25Avalon Wed 19-Feb-25 23:00:39

Reform are not in power and may never be. A lot of people say they will vote Reform as a means of expressing their dissatisfaction with Labour and the Tories but it doesn’t mean they actually will vote for them in a General Election which in any case isn’t going to be on the cards for a few years. In opinion polls I say I’ll vote Reform but ain’t doubt I will. This is an awful situation with Ukraine. Boris Johnston had a landslide victory to get Brexit done but he has supported Ukraine all the way. Will Farage do the same?

Claremont Wed 19-Feb-25 23:01:19

Listening to Newsnight- we are truly in a very precarious situation, where just anything could happen.
