I’ve been looking at the way that the US justified supplying other countries during WW2, the 2 main ones were UK and Russia, to UK 31 billion dollars (680 bn in todays values)
As we know at first they were very reluctant, voters were not in favour of getting involved, after Pearl Harbour, that changed, Japan and Germany together were a major threat to the US and it was very much in their interest to win the war. Enabling peace to be restored, proved very much in US interests and they did get their payback and then some.
Ukraine is not important to them and are very cautious about getting involved directly in a war with Russia. The US has always sought payback, in many cases has failed - Vietnam, Iraq etc. Being unemotional they don’t think Ukraines freedom is worth fighting for, so wants to do a deal with whoever runs Ukraine after the war ends. (it won’t be Zelensky).
What happens next?. Will Europe try to supply Ukraine without US resupplying them, breaking away from the US is a big deal.
