For those of you who wish to know more about them or why some of us despise them.

Sorry, but I can't bear to know anymore about them so I won't be opening the link. They are truly despicable

That’s ok, it’s really for those who hadn’t heard much about them. I agree, they are totally sickening

Shocking to read that the man guilty of the murder of Carole and Hannah Hunt and the rape and murder of Louise Hunt had been watching Andrew Tate videos before the attack.

They need to be stopped.

Oldbat1 Thu 06-Mar-25 19:26:27

The pair of them are awful people - never mind though they supported Trump!!!! Trump likes them - says it all.

Rula Thu 06-Mar-25 19:28:50

Impossible to stop. The Internet is filled with all these horrendous men spouting their vile rhetoric in this manosphere. Incels.

Fortunately most of them remain unknown, wallowing in their subculture but AT went viral and the rest is history.

Farage is also a fan of Tate. www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/20/nigel-farage-andrew-tate-important-voice-men-podcast-interview

Any man who supports the Tate brothers must be every bit as bad as them.
But seeing political leaders supporting these dreadful specimens will send out the wrong message to impressionable young boys.

foxie48 Thu 06-Mar-25 22:08:10

I think it's important to consider why men like Trump and Farage approve of these men. How does it relate to their political beliefs and ambitions. Most decent people see them for what they are and find them despicable but Trump and Farage don't. Those who support Trump and Farage might like to answer but my only thought is that they must represent them in some way.

Interesting their younger sister is a corporate lawyer in the US and an advocate of feminism

BlueBelle Thu 06-Mar-25 22:20:40

I felt sick when I read that the horrible man who killed the Hunt girls and their mum was a watcher of these two horrendous ‘things’ as * churchview* has just said these two hideous ‘things’ need stopping for good How many boys and even children have been influenced by this awful pair Is there nothing can stop them

Allsorts Thu 06-Mar-25 22:36:58

Tells you where Trumps mind is jsupporting those two. I hope the two meet with an accident.

The fact that they are so revolting is ostensibly avery good reason, for women like us not wanting to watch any of their output.

But women like us must watch this stuff so that we know who the enemy is and what he is saying. I am among those whose gorge rises at the thought of looking at it. But I will, in the next twodays, and that is a promise.

There are many articles online as to why young men listen to Andrew Tate.

How difficult it will be to restrain the Tates when they are approved of by the president of the USA. Trump doesn't rate women highly.
His ideal citizen is a tough, white, rich male.

I don’t really care that folk like Trump and Farage think the vile brothers are great, but I do care about the message this sends to our own youth, and the youth in other countries.

Impressionable youths, male and female, who might think this is the right way to treat and be treated.

We seem to be going backwards!

There’s quite a lot I wish would meet with an accident

Awful I know, but if it prevents our young people being taught their twisted, vile truths so be it!

Florida is investigating, how far they will get we dont know:

Florida attorney general opens criminal investigation into Andrew Tate and brother

www.theguardian.com/news/2025/mar/04/andrew-tate-criminal-investigation-florida

"The attorney general of Florida has opened a criminal investigation of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan after the pair were able to fly into the state last week despite facing trial in Romania on charges of rape, sex with a minor, people trafficking and money laundering.

James Uthmeier, appointed to be the state attorney general by the Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, said on Tuesday he had begun an “active criminal investigation” of the brothers and was prepared to use the “full force of law” in his examination of their conduct.

“These guys have themselves publicly admitted to participating in what very much appears to be soliciting, trafficking, preying upon women around the world,” Uthmeier said.

He added: “Many of these victims are coming forward, some of them minors. People can spin or defend however they want, but in Florida, this type of behavior is viewed as atrocious. We’re not going to accept it.”

(the article then goes on to point out Tate support)

There was an interesting discussion on this morning’s Woman’s Hour about the influence of Andrew Tate, and associated social media algorithms, on the development of young boys growing up (and the consequent effect on young girls). Reference was made to the fact that the recently-convicted Kyle Clifford watched Andrew Tate videos before he committed rape and murder.

I think it is unwise to underestimate the influence the Tates are having especially as they seem to be well in with Trump.

Iam64 Fri 07-Mar-25 12:21:14

I agree Indigo8, the Women’s Hour piece was good in having teachers talking about the need for misogyny to be addressed routinely. He believed pupils were more likely behave genuinely with teachers than with outside speakers whose specific role was eg to stress how bad the Tate’s are.
