Isn't the EU looking for some far flung country or area where they can place these immigrants?

She was vociferous in her condemnation of Trump’s deportation orders in January’25 and posted her tears on Insta.
Donald Trump's "border tsar" has vehemently defended a drive to deport unlawful migrants after singer and actress Selena Gomez posted a tearful video saying: "All my people are being attacked, and children."
The star, who has Mexican heritage, sobbed uncontrollably on camera, adding: "I wish I could do something but I can't." She captioned her video with "I'm sorry" alongside a Mexican flag emoji.
But Tom Homan, responding to Gomez and others with similar views, told Fox News: , external"If they don't like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We're going to do this operation without apology."
Well now today, 238 members of the feared Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua are deported from America and hauled into El Salvador's notoriously tough Terrorism Confinement Centre - as Trump delivers on election promise.
I say well done Trump. Getting rid of violent gang members making America that bit safer.

Well that’s not a solution either. After decades of foreign adventuring in different parts of the world, plundering and killing and destroying infrastructures, we should not be at all surprised when people can no longer live there and so come to first world countries for refuge. The US also spent the better part of a century destroying and destabilising South American countries.
What goes around comes around.
Am just surprised so few people can join the dots on this.

Yes, absolutely!

If only there was some totally deserted far flung place we could ship Trump, Vance, Musk, Putin, Johnson, Farage (& his entourage) they could all happily live together, I can just see it, Lord of the Flies, part 2
What Trump is doing is immoral and why anybody would persist is adoring him and rubbing their hands in glee at deportations is a mystery to me.
Well, something of a mystery.
Not a mystery to me I’m afraid. I know exactly why some people who really should know better insist upon kissing his feet.
It's the gleefulness I can't understand.
When so much suffering.
If people are where they shouldn’t be my sympathies lie elsewhere.

Your sympathies should lie with the suffering of others, and I think is very much a case of ‘here by the grace of God go I’, when any one of use by dint of birth, not criminal activity, could have been seeking a better life for ourselves and our children/GCs.
And just for the record most people inhabiting the US are where they shouldn’t be. They simply committed genocide against First Nation people in order to take the land by force. And many people who live in Mexico are descended from those First Nation people, the Mayan. They have more right to be in the US than Trump.
FGT Arguably the Americans are where they shouldn't be.
All Americans who are not native Americans are either immigrants or from immigrant stock. Trump himself is of Scottish/German heritage.
The early settlers decimated the native population and deprived them of their land. They imported huge numbers of Africans to be slaves, many of whom died on the way over in the horrendous slave ships. I don't think it could be said that any of the early settlers had any right to be there so in that sense they were all illegal immigrants.

I suppose " where they should be" is a discussion point.
Perhaps Expats shouldn't be in the wrong place? Or people who ruin beauty spots by buying up houses and renting them out? Or people who hike up Everest and leave a mess?

What about the people who are where they are supposed to be and are still being taken off the streets, stripped naked, hosed down, starved and then hospitalized?
Just a cost of Trump doing business right? 🙄

Yes Wyllow Me too.
It’s so ridiculously ironic!
Trump saying who should and shouldn’t be in HIS country!
As others quite rightly state, many many people have more “right” to be in America than Trump, Musk certainly isn’t one of them! Nor Trumps wife!
Imaround the thing is when it comes to Trump doing business he doesn’t have a great track record -
This is from Wiki -
‘Trump's unsuccessful business ventures have included numerous casinos and hotel bankruptcies, the folding of his New Jersey Generals football team, and the now-defunct Trump University. He and his businesses have been involved in more than 4,000 legal actions, including six business bankruptcies.’
So this trumped up Trump who calls himself a great business man, good at cutting deals, is in fact a gold plated loser.
Putin must be sharpening his teeth for the feast.
He is trying to run the country like he runs his businesses. Except, it doesn't work. As everyone in the world but Trump supporters can see.
He has had 6 bankruptcy, including a casino. A fraudulent college shut down. A fraudulent children's charity shut down.
So admirable.
At least Zelenskyy was a successful comedian before he became President.

More German tourists being held and no one knows why. One for 5 weeks now. These are 2 separate accounts, both had toursist visas.
One was accused of working here because he was doing tattoo art with the woman he was visiting.
The other was with her German husband. They traveled to Tijuana to get medical treatment for her dog.
Neither were given the option to self deport, just transferred and held.

I wonder how these other countries are going to respond to their citizens rights being violated? I cant imagine this is going to improve relations.
Thank you for your updates, imaround, although I am tempted to read them from behind the sofa, as I watched scary films when a child.
Interesting to see that tourists are in his sights, now. I'm no businesswoman, but maybe, just maybe, this might have a slightly negative impact on the lucrative international tourist industry in the USA... ( more great ideas to follow from the Amazingly Astute Businessman POTUS , no doubt)

I've just seen the footage of this! Looked just like a film.
"I've just seen footage of this! Looked like a film" yes a dam horror film . horrible ugly and terrifying
And remember that 124 of those 238 were not alleged to be in the notorious gang by the reports own admission but were Venezuelans just picked up as they were undocumented - to that notorious prison.
I'm sure that footage was released to gloat on.
For Fried Green Tomatoes -- IF you want to make USA safer, by that logic, then deport EVERYONE. It's had by far the biggest number of gun deaths in the 'western' world for many decades, way before the numbers of poor immigrants took off (and they are coming because Americans - you know, the nice white ones -- don't want to do dirty low-paid work). In 2017, the Las Vegas massacre killed around 60 people - a nutter (home grown and white!!) with machine guns -- and injured hundreds more. Chump, when asked about gun control said "we'll look at it". His only move on that topic was to make buying them easier.
I wasn't suggesting it was a good thing to send immigrants to some deserted island. It's in the news. That is what the EU is looking at doing!
