Trump as Pope

I looked an article in the BBC news with almost complete disbelief.
There's a photo of Trump dressed as Cardinal and a suggestion that he'd like to be Pope .
I am a Catholic .
My family background is Welsh and they are Baptists .
I am C of E as my parents were and attend their church .
I am very much a free thinker and not nervous of challenging things in my church
My Vicar is a friend and also similar in her thoughts .
I find this photo deeply offensive and am appalled by it .
I hope that it's fake news .

Someone ( not Trump) sent me this one. I laughed.

What is funny about it?

I laughed because Trump is constantly boasting that he does everything better and knows more about everything than anybody. Like here-

It is of course AI generated.. he posted it though.

Yes, apparently he gave the image the thumbs up. Readily.

The man with the most unbelievable ego on the planet.

My word, doesn't Obama's speech bring into sharp relief just how ignorant, inarticulate, undiplomatic and undignified Trump is.

Trump's ego seems to be in a permanent state of competition with anyone and anything existing outside of the hallowed, adoring circle of his supporters and backers who have created an alternative world - a Trump world - for him.

Apart from the lack of self-awareness that allows him to post the AI generated image on Truth Social, and the inability to understand the finer points of social and cultural etiquette which appear to be part of his trademark - I wonder if it was the case that he felt the late Pope Francis was getting too much attention from too many quarters, so he had to muscle-in on it. A bit like a precocious child who momentarily, losing the attention of its adoring family, does something outrageous to re-focus it back on him.

I read earlier on the BBC website he’s now threatening to reopen Alcatraz to deal with the country’s repeat criminal offenders. Let’s hope there will be cell reserved for him.

Totally disrespectful but not surprising. However, it may have been a very different outcome had he done this with other religions.

You said it , Homestead 62.
Man's a moron but , curiously, not mad enough to provoke those who consider that the concepts of blasphemy or apostasy confer the right to murder other people.

I think the long white costume, with the tall pointy hat, and peep hole eyes, would be more his style.
