Starmer has zero to do with Badenoch’s performance eazybee. The Pavlov’s dog response tells nobody anything about what you think about Badenoch, or indeed, who should replace her.

I think the best thing the Tories can do for now is to call on one of the most experienced of their former ministers, who can hold their own at the despatch box and work on unifying the party again. Sunak was the best they had for years, but if he won’t do it, which I could understand, then Cleverly - or at a push, Jeremy Hunt, who I don’t like but is competent.

The Tories got rid of their best people during the Brexit fracas.

Bring back the one national tories

To me, everything that Kemi Badenoch says and does seems to come from a position of negativity.

Nothing about her shouts optimism, a generous spirit or public service. For lots of us the Tories have spent 15 years running the country into the ground and spreading division. If she could engage her party in a new sense of optimism around a positive plan to improve things for all, then I think this would win people over. I don't think she's capable of that.

That might be the truth, could never understand why they elected her over Jenrick, whether he is a prospect now I doubt.
If the Tories want to win back votes from Reform they have to be firmly right leaning, it seems that has dawned on members, they cannot be centrist.

I think the exact opposite. If they lean to the right then reform will undoubtedly benefit.

They need to provide a home for the right leaning centrist.

The one nation Tory I really mean. They do still exist, and must feel very adrift.

Mel Stride, the present shadow chancellor, is our local MP.
He seems a decent bloke, attends lots of local events and is generally well liked here. But I didn't vote for him as I am not a tory supporter.
How about him for leader?

My enduring image of Badenoch is trying to fire criticism at Starmer on the ballot box, or when she criticises for example atm the UK/EU deal.

I really have no idea what she does stand for or what positive policies she feels would benefit the UK. Its really needed, whoever has the role

I dont know if Jenrick is popular or not, are there polls? He is better at getting policy across, but his policies echo many of Reforms.

The Tories need (and deserve) 10 years in the wilderness to reformulate their views and to grow a new leadership. Badenoch is a waste of time and Jenrick would be worse. They need to resuscitate former senior Tory as a stand-in leader ( just as they did with Muchael Howard).

And Johnson wrecked the Tory elite by getting rid of so many able and honourable MPs like David Gauke.

I only hear Badenoch’s constant. negativity. I have no idea how she would solve our major problems, she just shouts down anything Labour puts forward. I have not heard if she has put forward a single solution to help those in poverty.
