this continues an ongoing thread on Gaza

The O/P read (in part)
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the population of Gaza will be displaced to the south after his security cabinet approved an expanded military operation in the enclave that a minister described as a plan to “conquer” the territory.
The vote on Sunday came hours after the military said it would mobilize tens of thousands of reservists, strengthening its capacity to operate in the besieged Palestinian territory.
“One thing will be clear: there will be no in-and-out,” Netanyahu said in a Monday video message posted on X. “We’ll call up reserves to come, hold territory — we’re not going to enter and then exit the area, only to carry out raids afterward. That’s not the plan. The intention is the opposite.”
We now have the aid crisis at the focus of world wide attention.

News from Australia on The Guardian online today, the ABC breached the Fair Work Act when it terminated broadcaster Antoinette Lattouf for holding a political view opposing the Israeli military campaign in Gaza.
Who ruled that it did breach the Fair Work Act?
If this journalist breached their guidelines then it seems an arbitrary ruling.
Allira, every piece of writing has a bias, even here on GN
it's just human nature. Might be obviated with AI creators, but for all of its flaws, I prefer, this way.
You may not trust The Guardian, but they are simply reporting a legal judgement from Australia.
Can't remember, would have to look back, but 'legal' enough that she was awarded damages. Of course the broadcaster might apeal.

That’s the map I mentioned the other day, it shows very clearly how Israel has expanded by land grab over the years. Like Iam64 I don’t know how to do links so thanks Claremont.
Notice too that all that was left for Palestine was not one whole area but tiny areas encircled by Israel which kept total control over movement by Palestinians.
Please look it takes a few seconds but it might help some to better understand the history over decades.
I never saw maps like this in World Atlas
What point are you making Anniebach? Do you disagree with the use of technology to show the land grab many here refer to. Or do you dispute land grab is happening to the extent shown. or at all
In The Guardian online this morning, an article describes how Israel has closed the most direct route for aid into Gaza.
In the same article, Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez has described the situation as 'genocide'.
Now that the Iranian 'situation' appears to be over, for a while, the world's gaze moves back to Gaza.
Who informed The Guardian, the Health Authority ?
Perhaps The Guardian gathered the info from this in the BBC news report
-At least 18 Palestinians have been killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted a Hamas police unit attempting to assert control over a market in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, a doctor and eyewitnesses told the BBC.
I suppose the only news that can be believed is when it comes directly from the horse's mouth, as it were. Unfortunately, we have to go to social media for this and the range of information is limited.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Donald Trump for his “tremendous support for Israel and the Jewish people” on Thursday, after the US president demanded the cancellation of the premier’s ongoing criminal trial in an overnight post on his Truth Social platform.
“We will continue to work together to defeat our common enemies, free our hostages, and quickly expand the circle of peace,” Netanyahu posted on X together with a Hebrew translation, and later an English retweet, of Trump’s post.
In his post, Trump professed to be shocked that Israel was “continuing its ridiculous Witch Hunt against their Great War Time Prime Minister,” arguing that his trial “should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State.”
I don’t listen to or read Trump speak,

No, you probably did not. Which is exactly why I posted it here.
Are you disputing the constant illegal expansion of Israel since 1947/8.
Gabor Maté is a Jew and an ex believer of zionism. But he now explains that capturing territory was always the aim. And now we all know that the destruction of allPalestinians is the aim, for the few survivors to be forced into exile, and for the whole Land to be taken by zionist Jews.
And some here still deny that a genocide is taking place. Some even deny the deaths of much over 50.000, yes, some men, yes some Hamas, but mostly elderly, women, children and babies, and fathers too.
Gabor Maté speaks about this here

The bromance between Trump and Netanyahu continues as Palestinians continue to be shot, bombed and starved to death; it's sickening
.
Who are the terrorists here. Who does not have the right to defend themselves, sticks and stones against bulldozers protected by IDF and machine guns.
WHO? day after day, night after night

I suppose it's about money and power, amongst other things.
Many, many years ago I was involved in caring for groups of teenagers from Europe and beyond. The young people were mostly concerned with having a good time apart from the Israeli kids who drew pictures of weapons and bullied and humiliated a soft kid who was Algerian. It was like something from Lord of the Flies.
I do hope you aren’t extrapolating an entire race of people as bullies from that experience lafergar.
I wonder How much exposure those ‘Israeli kids’ had to the threats faced probably though out their developmental years. Mental health problems remain higher in Northern Ireland as a result of the troubles.

Probably a silly thing to post. It was about 40 years ago but it sticks in my mind. Their behaviour was so disturbing.
Of course an entire race aren't bullies. Many Jewish people are deeply troubled by what is unfolding.
Thanks lafergar, I hope I didn’t sound too snippy. I worked with teenagers forty years ago as well. Some things stay with us
I worry about children and adolescents in the Middle East, living with constant stress, in some cases, with bombs, no settled homes and hunger. It’s storing up such hatred
I worry, full stop Iam

Yes I read that.
When confronted by these ‘police hamas’ stallholders pulled out hand guns, one witness said and even a kalishnakov and then the drone struck.Seems that casualties were inevitable given that scenario.
Did this happen in Palestine or in Israel?
