Is this even real?

Welcome to Gilead.

A Texas police officer used License plate cameras nationwide to find a woman who may have been seeking to leave Texas for an abortion. The Sheriff says that they were using the cameras to locate her because her family thought she might be bleeding to death and wanted to get her medical treatment.

That may be the case now, but once it is done one time, it will be used over and over again. And next time it will be to locate women who are seeking abortion.

Poor lady, husband, child, baby and mother

I haven’t read the link article but am sure that either her DH or partner or parents think what she would have wanted is the safe delivery of her baby. It’s also about saving a life, the baby.
It’s the last good thing that the poor girl can do.

Nine weeks? At that age, it has not even developed as a boy or girl and is th size of an acorn. Probably has not even grown legs yet.

This article and post is not even the number one thought on GN. However, I think it should be.

This is a violation of the female body.

I feel so sorry for the family involved. What a situation. they can't properly even start to grieve the loss of the mother.

I doubt that they can properly sustain the working of the mother's uterus and other necessary functions long enough to bring the baby to a viable birth. Plus, many babies are lost naturally before the end of the first trimester. That could still happen. Would the doctor's then potentially face charges? It would, I think, be difficult to prove if it had been a "lack of care" or natural at that early stage.

OMG it's like Dr. Frankenstein shock

Hard to believe that such laws are still being applied, women truly are downgraded.
I agree with all the points you made Magenta8 also as I understand Trump is against providing free health care for people with disabilities so where does that leave the poor family. So very sad.

Methinks, the doctors see this as an interesting challenge.
Has it ever been done before?

It's Georgia and they have draconian abortion laws so doctors can't do anything that would end the life of a foetus without risking imprisonment themselves.

This is absolutely horrific. I did not expect this. How can anyone true Christian believe that Jesus would sanction such.

I feel so sad for her family and her son who thinks she is still alive.

It's horrible & there need to be international guidelines on what is ethical in this area - just because we can do it, doesn't mean we should.

I’ve my own thoughts here, but at only 9 weeks pregnant - her fetus isn’t viable and (IMO) it’s just wrong to use her body as an incubator to what is likely to be a special needs child.

So awful for her family. Will they now have to pay all the horrendously expensive medical bills? As if grief is not enough?

Magenta8 Sat 31-May-25 18:14:37

Beyond shocking. Heart rending that her little boy visits her and has been told she is just sleeping.

There is every indication that her unborn baby has hydrocephalus and will therefore need special treatment and care.

Her family will be responsible for caring for the motherless boys but they had no say in any of the treatment their mother received.

A young lady who died from blood clots in the brain at nine weeks pregnant is being used to incubate her unborn child due to abortion laws.

Women downgraded to baby machines. This is beyond wrong to me.
