^By what right do Israel have to continue stealing other peoples property?^

None.

But is less than £16 million worth of fruit, veg and nut imports, to the UK as a whole so a minute proportion of thst to the Co-op, going to make a jot of difference?

Other governments, the UN, huge charities, none of their attempts seem to be making any difference whatsoever.
Until Netanyahu is removed from power, this could continue.

Until Netanyahu is removed from power, this could continue.
I meant the encroachment.

Until all of them are removed from power, ie Netanyahu, Hamas, The Iranian regime etc etc, all of this will continue.
Then what?

Until the next time.

It would be very unusual if a leader did not give a victory speech, they always have to boost the ‘troops’ and make the best of whatever situation because it could easily affect their own situation.

That was in answer to ronib

The Jews were first thrown out of their land by the Romans. Since then they have dispersed to other parts of the world including Africa and Europe but some returned to the middle east.
It must be difficult for Israelis to be surrounded by hostile countries and I think the British and the US bear some responsibility for creating this situation.
This can't be rectified now and I think the middle east will always be very unstable.

Not strictly true. What we now think of the state of Israel has always been disputed territory, due to its access to the sea.
The Jewish people were subject to Babylonian rule well before the Romans came along, and also the Greeks under Alexander.
Previous to this they were in captivity in Egypt too.

Yes, the Romans destroyed the temple and made life difficult for the remnant but there have always been Jewish people in that country, living quite peacefully alongside Arabs under Ottoman rule.

Zionists began to arrive and takeover land during the 19th century following pogroms in Eastern Europe.

The state of Israel came into being following WWII when millions of displaced Jews arrived there.

There are more Jewish people living in the US than there are in Israel.

I do agree though, that the US now, and previously Britain, are mostly responsible for the current mess.

However, I refuse to believe it has to be this way. A two state solution will every difficult, but it is the only way to establish some sort of lasting peace.

I might add that Netanyahu is to blame most of all now.

In your opinion and the opinions of many on this thread, I am
in the minority

I wouldn't be sure of that annie.

People often get completely surprised by what the general public actually think.

The Ayatollah is expected to make his victory speech to his supporters and so it continues with no end in sight.

A victory speech claiming not much damage done and Iran has delivered a slap in the face to the US, and did damage to the American base.
Followed by a decision to ban any checks on nuclear progress in Iran.
They are named ‘mad mullahs’ and you can really see why.

Strangely it often isn’t what forums thinks😁

AGAA4 Thu 26-Jun-25 13:18:17

The ayatollah's speech was as expected. Full of bravado and hot air.
They will not surrender.
I'm just bothered by what horrors they are cooking up in their groups in our country.

Following the horrors of the Holocaust made public,

Never Again , never doesn’t mean in a few years time

An alternative perspective:

A ‘victory’ speech by Trump (probably on Truth Social) claiming that Iran’s nuclear facilities have been ‘obliterated’. Denied by US defence officials, so Trump claims they’re wrong and he’s right.

US ally Israel is not subject to any checks on their nuclear progress.

Trump and Netanyahu are named ‘untrustworthy’ and you can really see why.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:25:44

Easy to see which side you prefer then LizzieDrip

ronib Thu 26-Jun-25 13:27:03

No actually I can’t….., I have nothing but sadness for this continuing loss of life LizzieDrip

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Jun-25 13:27:41

Blimey, I wouldn’t trust the Ayatollah a millimetre…

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:27:51

The CIA say there was substantial damage done to nuclear sites in Iran, as you would suppose given the bombs the US used.
There was no damage to the US base as the missiles were all shot down as Iran knew they would be.

AGAA4 Thu 26-Jun-25 13:36:17

As the nuclear weapons were so far underground it is very difficult to be certain how much damage was done.
There are differing opinions on this.
I think Iran is very worrying and will retaliate strongly at some point in the future.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:39:11

If they do, the US will be waiting and ready for them.

LizzieDrip Thu 26-Jun-25 13:41:11

Oreo my point is that there is more than one perspective. There is right and wrong on both sides

I take no side when both are killing each other. As long as people see war and killing as binary right / wrong; your side / my side, the world is forever trapped in a doom loop of hell.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:44:47

There is no right on the Iran side. It’s a terrible regime which many of its own citizens were hoping the US or Israel would wipe out.It just cannot be allowed to have nuclear powers.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:45:30

Taking no sides is not a virtue.

LizzieDrip Thu 26-Jun-25 13:47:01

I’m not saying it is a virtue.

I’m merely saying what I believe.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:48:48

What’s the ‘right’ on Iran’s side?

AGAA4 Thu 26-Jun-25 13:49:24

Oreo

If they do, the US will be waiting and ready for them.

It's not just Israel they may go for. There are Iranian terrorists here and I don't want our people harmed either. There have been some dreadful attacks by terrorists in this country. My GD had friends caught up in the Manchester arena attack.
Wherever terrorists are from they are intent on killing.
