No government gives money to another without expecting something back. They all do it, but those who take the £££s are then left beholden. No one wants to criticise or bite the hand which feeds them. It’s completely unacceptable.

It all comes down to money in the end. Israel is a rich country and Gaza is extremely needy so it seems Israel can do what it likes.

Gaza isn’t being attacked because it’s a poor or needy country.
Gaza has done very well from being propped up with money and aid for very many years.
It’s their own government that’s creamed off the profits and spent zillions on weapons and it’s own government that’s brought down misery on its people’s heads by its murderous incursion into Israel.

And it's not always above board. Sometimes Politicians 'forget' to declare the donations.

A government, hamas, that Gazans voted for incidentally.

There are lots of articles to read. Chose the one from 'Jewish Voice for Labour' and the result is there for any of you to check up for yourself.
It’s all above board then, so don’t try and blacken any Labour or any MP’s by suggestions of interference or foreign influences.

This is a genuine question, and it has puzzled me for a while, why are the people of Gaza not in a place/situation/location where they can forge their own destiny through farming, workshops, small industries, retail?
Why did they need the aid which, Oreo has said has been syphoned off by the corrupt? Not disputting that latter point Oreo.

Seems the Labour Party is getting attacked now, wonder where it will end?

Interesting, depressing but not surprising that pro Palestine posters are angry about donations given to the Labour Party by Jews. It’s taken Starmer a long time to rid Labour of the anti-Semites within the Party and donations are welcome from many businesses and people even if from Israel.

We are talking about one state trying to influence the political decision of another.

My entire life has been one of support of Israel’s right to exist - and I continue to do so, although I have never felt comfortable about the continual land grab, which has now reached alarming levels snd almost certainly means that the West Bank will be completely annexed by Israel.

But my ire is directed and always has been towards the Netanyahu government and its far right policies.
I will never accept such policies, and they are being played out in Gaza in the worst of ways almost beyond comprehension.

If they are being funded by Israel then so they should be and have the backbone to stop the funding.

Funding from any foreign government is very wrong indeed in my book.

We have the diplomatic Service through which to channel a foreign state representation.

Why would Labour voters defend the indefensible. Voting for whichever should not preclude criticising unacceptable behaviour. If it’s wrong then it’s wrong and should not be allowed.

Of course it’s not just this government which has accepted money, or bribery, call it what you will, the last one certainly did as no doubt did those that went before.

Funding from foreign governments is banned in the U.K. so I think it is worth looking more in depth at those MPs who are getting some sort of slush fund from foreign states.

Would it be acceptable if India and Indian business owners did this, they probably do. Or Turkey?
There is no evidence that any business conducted in Parliament is affected by any funding.
