Thanks for that information Whitewave. Was trying to remember which Irish politician it was who visited the blockade. She was very critical about the Israelis, and about how they are holding up the aid.
Yes easzybe, I have read that Hamas said that. But those children didn't, you know, the ones who are starving while the world takes sides.
If you have been reading all the numerous threads about the tragedy of Gaza, you will not find a single, solitary post, in any way shape or form, supporting the horrors of Hamas.

That’s ok looks like the IDF are hell bent upon upping the death toll to meet your particular standards when it comes to genocide.

I imagine that if this totally uneven and unequal war was happening the other way round and 62000 Israelis were killed it would be seen unequivocally as genocide.

Perhaps some people have a problem with those presently being killed en-masse perhaps they fail to see their deaths as less important and so the sheer numbers being killed don’t really count.

A family member of ours who is Lebanese said that they have a saying in that neck of the woods - ‘one Israeli life is equal to one thousand Palestinians’
And I think we see that quite clearly played out on a daily basis.

You clearly have unquestioning trust in Israel and without knowing much of the backstory you will not hear a word against them. It’s hard but closing your eyes to something as horrific as this, always insisting they have done no wrong, despite massive evidence to the contrary, does not change the truth. What we have all witnessed won’t be forgotten.
Israel has lost credibility with most of the world and it wont be easy for them to come back from that.

I feel both pity and revulsion for those who feel that an Israeli life is worth more than other lives.

That population increase was a growth projection published before the war started and was posted on Instagram recently, falsely claiming the increase as a fact. In actual fact, there has been a decrease in population.

Israel is set to become a pariah state and even its own citizens are now taking to the streets to pressure the government to stop the war, even they are now aware of atrocities committed in their name.
Though am sure even this won’t persuade some to remove the scales from their eyes.
Certainly I would never trust our government to do the right thing, I would look at all angles and the context in which our government is doing something and protest loudly if I thought they were wrong.

I visited Israel about twenty years ago when things were relatively peaceful. We had three days in Jerusalem, a fascinating and beautiful city. It really brought home to me that this is where three major faiths meet and live in relative harmony, though of course tensions still existed. We went into Jordan

Freya if you look you will notice that the reporter is reporting on Israeli tv. Clearly Israeli because no international journalists have been allowed to go into Gaza despite many requests to do so.
It’s not Israel providing ‘tons and tons of aid, to rot in the sun’ as you put it. International charities provide this , but are under the control of Israel, who clearly have been giving out some small amounts of aid , while shooting hundreds of palistinians who walk fir hours in the heat before queuing fir more hours for this pitiful amount of food.

So killing every man woman and child in Gaza will solve this dilemma?

But that is the only way they will kill all Hamas as they are amongst the population.
They have killed 62000 people already. Many are children who are obviously not Hamas.
Israel are in Gaza city killing more Palestinians now.
How many deaths are enough for you?

In the words of Smotrich a senior member of the Knesset "we will cleanse Gaza of all Palestinians".
