“Israel has faced mounting criticism over the 22-month-long war with Hamas, with UN-backed experts warning of widespread famine unfolding in the besieged territory.
On Tuesday members of an international group of former leaders known as "The Elders" for the first time called the war in Gaza an "unfolding genocide" and blamed Israel for causing famine among its population.
Following a visit to the Gaza border, Helen Clark and Mary Robinson, a former prime minister of New Zealand and a former president of Ireland, said in a joint statement: "What we saw and heard underlines our personal conviction that there is not only an unfolding, human-caused famine in Gaza. There is an unfolding genocide."

It is a horrible situation whichever way you look at it. I don’t know what the answer is because both sides are determined to win and annihilate their opposition.
I agree but the problem is that people living in Gaza have no army, little "defence" tech, no-one who comes to their aid. So Hamas have no realistic chance of annihilating all Israelis, and they know it.Would they if they could? Hypothetical question.
Israel have every resource they need to annihilate everyone living in Gaza, most of whom are not Hamas, probably don't support Hamas. And it looks as if they will do exactly this if someone with influence doesn't restrain them.
It’s not a hypothetical question really as the answer is you betcha they would!
Gaza City is where the concentration of hamas are and always was. Clearing the areas around Gaza and now on the outskirts the IDF are allowing lots of time before they engage hamas for civilians to leave, how many enemies do that?
How kind of the Israeli government to "allow lots of time" for civilians to leave the city before they raze it to the ground. There is nowhere for these starving and terrified people to go to that hasn't been reduced to rubble.
Is Israel supplying transport for those who are unable to walk all the way to the south to the camps they have set up? No if they can't leave they will be shot.
Some people will justify anything that's why history continues to repeat itself.

They should leave civilians there and continue the war with Hamas ? No kindness from Hamas is there, and no criticism
Hamas operatives will be long gone from Gaza City. They have had plenty of notice.
Hardly kindness from Israel to throw people out of their homes is it?

I agree. They won't hang around waiting to be shot. I wonder if the hostages are still alive. I wouldn't put it past Hamas to have killed them if they have left.
I know this was why the families didn't want Netanyahu taking over Gaza City.

All acts of kindness comes from Hamas.
You believe Hamas is kind? Strange.

Who has said that? It's getting quite pathetic that you can't accept the IDF have committed war crimes. Noone has defended Hamas the way you have defended the IDF. Both sides can be wrong.
Tell us honestly do you support starving Palestinian babies to death. Please dont start with the but but but, just a straight forward yes you support it or not.
Obviously you don't need to answer but not answering is an answer to most people.

Yes so we know what your answer is.
At last 15 people have been killed at Southern Gaza's main hospital.
Israel has announced there will be an immediate enquiry: well I shan't be holding my breath, will anyone?

Really, you speak for “we” . ? Yes , you and “we” always claim to know so much.
I think people on here are smart enough to work it out whether they agree with you or not.

There is still more information coming out. Four, maybe five of those killed were journalists. Apparently, a cameraman from Reuters was killed during the first strike, and more people, including journalists, killed during the second strike.
Five journalists, that makes over 190 the IDF have killed in the last 22 months. (Committee for protection of journalists figures, nothing to do with Hamas)
Those who believe every little tale the Israeli spokespeople trot out, might like to consider why Israel finds it desirable to silence the world's press.
Journalists and aid workers working in Palestinian territories have been killed by the IDF for decades, this is nothing new but certainly off the scale when it comes to the numbers.
Of course they are being targeted. Netanyahu doesn’t want any witnesses to the mass murder he is committing.
The Bosnian genocide involved the killing of 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys. There were other crimes against humanity (as in Gaza) but this was the slaughter. That was enough to prosecute the leaders for crimes against humanity.
So Netanyahu isn't going to be able to get off by saying he would need to kill considerably more for it to be genocide as Ronib thinks.
The definition of genocide has been explained numerous times on these threads.
None so blind who will not see.
It matters not - there will be a reckoning.
International condemnation of the attack by Israel on a hospital killing 20 people.
Israel have called it a 'tragic mishap'. How many tragic mishaps do they think they can get away with.
Hamas on the roof of the hospital?
A camera on the roof of the hospital. Filming Israeli troops. It was thought.
Absolutely no one believes Israel.
They are killing the only people left who are witnessing and telling the world of the silent death of starving children.
Israel now has the distinction of joining the list of countries committing genocide on Wikipedia.
