Sadly regardless of how much we abhor the treatment and deaths on 7/10, killing, maiming and starving Palestinians won't bring a single one back to life. It is, however, endangering more Israeli lives and creating inhumane conditions for over two million Palestinians. I think anyone who can justify this degree of retribution will be able to justify just about anything!

Man made famine - the world should be ashamed
(435 Posts)We sit by watching as children starve to death, their mothers’ cannot feed them and their fathers’ unable to provide them with food.
Every single calorie is controlled by one government.
Why are we allowing this situation to continue?
It’s not about justifying this degree of retribution.
It’s about learning to live with your worst enemy.
No it isn't about learning with your worst enemy ronib there wont be any of Israels enemies left in Gaza; there wont be anyone left be they friend or foe.
What is your latest headcount for Gaza? Smileless2012. To deny the complete antipathy and hatred present at the moment is to delay any progress and saving of lives.
I'm not denying Israels complete antipathy and hatred ronib.
You seem to be blind to the hate and antipathy of the Palestinians/Hamas?Smileless2012
Hamas has vowed to kill all Jews -
The Final Solution[a] or the Final Solution to the Jewish Question[b] was a plan orchestrated by Nazi Germany during World War II for the genocide of individuals they defined as Jews. The "Final Solution to the Jewish question" was the official code name for the murder of all Jews within reach, which was not restricted to the European continent
No I'm not blind to the hate of some of the Palestinians and Hamas ronib, just as I'm not blind to the hate of Netanyahu, his government and some of his people towards the Palestinians not just in Gaza, but also on the West Bank.
I don't need a lesson on 'The Final Solution' Annie and I'm pretty sure that no one else does either. As far as what's happening in Gaza today is concerned it is irrelevant.

Not a lesson, just a reminder. - Parliament following Hamas attacking Israel
Israel was founded not just as a homeland for the Jewish people, but as a guarantor of their security, to ensure that what happened in the holocaust could never happen again. Through its strength and resilience, Israel Toggle showing location of Column 224gradually achieved some of that longed-for security, despite the strategic threats on its borders, including Hezbollah in the north with Iran at its back. Israel normalised relations with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain through the Abraham accords, and moved towards normalising ties with Saudi Arabia—steps that were considered unthinkable not long ago.
One reason this attack is so shocking is that it is a fundamental challenge to any idea of co-existence, which is an essential precursor to peace and stability in the region. The question is: how should we respond? I believe that we must support absolutely Israel’s right to defend itself, to go after Hamas and take back the hostages, to deter further incursions, and to strengthen its security for the long term. That must be done in line with international humanitarian law, while recognising that Israel faces a vicious enemy who embed themselves behind civilians.
The first sentence of your final paragraph is just as relevant to what's happening on the West Bank Annie. Israel's land grabbing and driving Palestinians from their homes, aided and abetted is also a fundamental challenge to any idea of co-existence.
I defend Israel's right to defend itself but despite saying this must be done in line with international humanitarian law you continue to defend Israel which is clearly not acting with international humanitarian law and constantly refer to the horrors of the Holocaust as part of your defence.
aided and abetted by the IDF
Hamas does do, humanitarian law of any law
Hamas is a terrorist group, Israel is a first world democracy, the former probably doesn’t follow international laws or prioritise humanitarian laws, the latter should do so even in a theatre of war or is sinking to the same level as Hamas. In which case we can accuse Israel if state sponsored terrorism.
Israel was a first world democracy but I don't think it can be considered to be one now Annie; 'If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas'.
If you read the definition of terrorism Israel is close, very close.
Hamas has no respect for human life.
Does Israel?
Hamas damaged property.
Israel has destroyed most of the homes and other buildings in Gaza.
Hamas terrified and killed children.
Israel has done the same.
Where is the difference now?

Don’t forget that hamas were the government of hamas, terrorists or not, who made the warlike choice to invade another country and murder and rape and hostage take.
It’s a war and in any war people die and are injured.hamas members, thousands of them, are Palestinians and they had much support in Gaza, even when they displayed the dead naked body of a female soldier in the back of an open vehicle for fellow Gazans to spit at and jeer.People in Gaza danced about and fired guns in celebration ( like all Palestinians crazily do) and laughed at the great ‘hamas success’.
So all you Gaza supporters need to think on that.
I think of all the children and adult civilians that are dead, dying, starving or injured.
I think of the war crimes Israel has committed, I think of the lies it has told, I think of the violence melted out to Palestinians living on the West Bank, I think of the theft of land since 1948. I think of the corrupt leaders, I think of the terrorists in the Israeli cabinet.
I am on the side of the innocent which ever side they are on.

You’re full of Biblical quotes aren’t you?
I don’t think you have the first idea about Palestinians or Israelis come to that.
As a woman you’d be perfectly safe walking around in Israel, the same couldn’t have been said even before this war if you walked around in Gaza.

You sound pretty innocent yourself, and only see things from one side.
I agree that building by settlers should have stopped ages ago, I do see that side of things, but where Gaza is concerned they have brought all the misery down on their own heads.

oreo unless you can provide concrete examples of your last post I will simply dismiss it as a racist trope.
Has anyone denied that atrocities took place by Hamas. Bringing up one dreadful incident after another doesn't make what Israel is doing now any better.
This is no longer a war it is occupation by a brutal enemy who have killed over 63000 people. Many of those are small children who won't have any idea why they are being shot.
Is an Arab woman safe to walk around in Israel, or in the West Bank?
Is it the case that when posters run out of justication for the genocide in Gaza they bring up mention of the Atrocity?

Is an Arab woman safe to walk around in Israel, or in the West Bank?
Totally safe
