Could hardly believe what I was watching on Ch4 News. Have we ever had a time before when the president of America was on the news virtually every day.

He gets far too much airplay. He was made by the media and I wish the media would destroy him instead of making out he is in the least bit news worthy.

I think if you listen to the comments on this link you can see the tide is turning. It always does. The question I would like the answer to is - will it be fast enough and soon enough?

The analysis by Jillian Tett was very interesting, but it was the first few minutes that I found disturbing. Where is the backbone of this group of .. sycophants ( ruder words did suggest themselves) ? I was unnerved by the expression on the face of Mr Trump, too.

Those sycophants are disgusting. Clearly they hope to get something out of it. But what? Presidents only have a limited term, although with his deployment of the National Guard it looks as if he's aiming for permanence.

But we criticise British governments for refusing to support their leadership and degenerating into in-fighting.

The only thing I agreed with Trump about in the beginning was deporting illegal immigrants. Many were drug cartels, violent gangs and running protection rackets. However, his henchmen have gone totally overboard with the deportations eg grabbing students off the streets, tearing families apart who were born in USA etc and dumping them in foreign countries, prisons etc often not their country of origin. He's took it far too far.

What does Trump have to do before the scales fall from the eyes of his sycophantic followers?
He is becoming a dictator and for the time being, the members of his cabinet fear for their heads if they don't join in with the idolatry.

Any leader surrounded by sickening sycophants is bad for the country. Some opposition and disagreement is very necessary for balance.
Trump can't cope with criticism which says a lot about someone who is the leader of a powerful country.

Trump creates fear, which is what dictators do, and fear keeps people quiet and sycophantic.

Regardless of the sickening sycophants, what I am struggling with is that not all Americans kow tow to Tango Man, so how is it not possible for a group of rational human beings on the American political scene to arrange:
proper criminal justice for the many felonies
production of the Epstein "files" or info in any form
an unbiassed medical assessment, via newsclips if necessary, of Trump's true state of health, mental and physical?
And maybe even proper control of his dim wits and Sharpie pens??

I imagine those people saying all those sycophantic things to Trump are mostly reasonably intelligent but know that speaking truth to this particular man in power will harm them in some way or other. It needs a lot of people in high places plus the media all to speak up and act - and perhaps one brave and good person to rally the troops to oppose this egoistic and dangerous man.

Some people have been able to 'fight back'. There are lots of marches planned this weekend in towns and cities, in the US. JD Vance gets a very poor reception wherever he goes, and there are rumours that his wife is complaining that she 'didn't sign up for this'.

I heard a bit of this on the radio – the sycophants' performance – but it's even worse seeing it for real. Aren't these people EMBARASSED to talk like this. Unbelievable. And watch Trump, soaking it all up as it feeds his ego.

I'm afraid having listened to watched what's going on in America today you are right. With Farage ... well isn't he conspiring against the UK? It seems (Guardian and Sun, apparently) that Farage is urging the UK to apply sanctions to the UK. Surely this isn't true? If it were how could he come back without being arrested as a traitor?
