I think if that was the case (I didn’t see them), you should have been the one to decide if you were prepared to let them stand or not Oreo.

Oreo I've had personal attacks on me, I didn't need another poster to point it out. You should do what I do, ie if you disagree with what is being posted, attack that and not the person who has posted it. Tbh when someone attacks me personally, I just ignore it, it's normally a sign that they don't have a decent argument and prefer to use snide comments or put downs instead, just ignore and move on.

If we can’t air our opinions without others getting personal it’s a poor do.

I never report posts and I've never been reported. I do see posts that I think break the rules but I prefer to see them left for others to see and to make a decision about.

I’ve looked back and see growstuff had two posts deleted. The mods only delete if a post is reported Primrose, as I’m sure yiu know.
FWIW I don’t see growstuff as ‘far left ‘. This is becoming an issue on gransnet, accusing others if being far left or far right. If we grannies are incapable of detailed debate we aren’t good role models

I would guess they were personal attacks. I have no.idea. I have thought a lot about whether to report the stoning gays nonsense ( in terms of GN) but I haven't.
I'm not sure if that's the right decision or not.

Well I think anyone can talk about what they like, celebrity or not, ot gets a bit boring but better than the alternative.

No, those like the "celebrities" with some semblance of media presence who jump on tragedy or popular topics to promote whatever it is they do. They seem happy to say or think whatever brings in the money

I've seen a few issues here and there but not really interested in whataboutism. I don't think political persuasion dictates character, I just believe people when they show their character. People falling off bandwagons at the smallest hump should perhaps examine whether they have any personality of their own.

Well there is a lot of deleting tweets or apologising at the moment, Alastair Campbell s was one of my favourites.

Laura Loomer changed her tune. As imaround pointed out, she was criticising Kirk for being too "liberal" just before he was killed. When he was murdered, she deleted some tweets and is now praising him as though he was some kind of messiah. She's persuaded some authorities to sack people who have said they won't mourn Kirk's death. (Don't forget these are the people who think free speech is sacred - ahem!) The right-wing in the US are desperate to portray Tyler Robinson as a "leftie" who became radicalised.

Casdon I think that's about right. It's crazy, isn't it? Unfortunately, it seems to be what politics in the US and on Twitter etc is all about. It seems to be about calling people names which aren't properly understood anyway, and then falling out regularly. Think of a pre-school group with tantrums, name-calling, physical scraps, bullying, etc and I think that's it. The tragedy is that these people have guns which can kill rather than leave a few scratches and bruises.

I’ve just read the Daily Mail article growstuff. I’m not convinced I’m reading it right, but is the implication that the term fascist is an insult to those deemed less right than they are if it comes from people who are very far right, like Nick Fuentes?

Lara Loomer is a very, interesting, person I would say.

The government is targeting employees in violation of free speech rights over this. I also just saw something about the possibility of a bill from Marco Rubio, something about taking the passports of citizens away if they don't support Israel. I haven't even looked that up yet. I would never imagine it to be true, but these are not normal times and I have learned nothing is impossible.
