Charlie Kirk shot

Isn’t it ironic that someone who made statements that some gun deaths are inevitable and justifiable to protect 2nd Amendment rights. - was shot by someone whose “rights” he was protecting.
Before anyone jumps on me - of course no one should be murdered for their views.

From what I understand, Fuentes thought Kirk wasn't far-right enough.

Good grief!!
Terrifying.

Casdon Sat 13-Sept-25 21:38:45

Thanks both growstuff and imaround, I’m a bit clearer now. I think it’s going to need somebody who is really into gaming to put the jigsaw of the clues he left together and interpret them, to understand his mindset, if that is possible.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 21:40:59

Casdon it will all come out soon enough about the gaming side and anything else.

imaround Sat 13-Sept-25 21:43:31

From what I saw last night, the casing engravings have to do with the gaming forums and 4chan, but last I saw the officials are saying they are all nonsense that points to nothing. I am not sure that is true either to be honest.

Galaxy Sat 13-Sept-25 21:49:22

Again the information on the engravings is available on all mainstream news sites.

I know, I’ve read the articles, and perhaps I’m really stupid, but I still didn’t understand what they amounted to Galaxy - not the individual things so much as the sum of what he was intending them to mean. Can you explain?

StoneofDestiny Sat 13-Sept-25 22:13:44

The majority of people understood and agreed with his values, Bless him

Ridiculous comment

All I know is what the media are saying they said.
A song that was used by the Italian resistance against the nazis.
Hey fascist catch
The other one, (the bulges one) according to CNN may be linked to furries subculture.
Dear God the things I have to write.
They are also reporting that he seems to have pretty much lived life online and that it is quite difficult to know what was going on.

InRainbows Sat 13-Sept-25 22:26:26

The inscribed messages could mean absolutely anything.

What I find interesting is the idea held over there that young people are being "radicalised" in college. Comparing liberals to terrorists is insane but in certain circles apparently working.

Yes. And we have read it. And still want to have a conversation about it. Thanks.

Yes that is what I am doing thanks.

Yes, I’ve read those things too, but not having an understanding of gamer mentality doesn’t help me to translate them into anything coherent. As imaround said, it was a discussion, really to see if anybody was able to get deeper into the meaning of them being put together, if there is one. It doesn’t sound from what you say as though you’ve read anything more, or understand anything more than we do, which is fine.

I am not going anywhere. The opinions of people half way across the world who do not live in my reality have no affect on my life, and vice versa. I enjoy GN and the people I have met.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am happy to have good faith conversations, but I will call out passive aggression for what it is, a manipulation tactic.

I say what I mean and mean what I say. I make mistakes, we all do. We are human. But I have never misrepresented myself, nor do I deserve the insinuation that I am anything other than what I am, someone who thinks Kirk was a horrible person who didn't deserve to die and I worry for his poor children.

I will continue to post updates about the shooter, though things will naturally go quiet while the news cycle finds the next thing Trump gets upset over.

I am interested in the possible link of the shooter to Groypers though. I feel like this line of thinking needs a bit more digging, because if it was his motivation, we now have violent warring factions of MAGA.

I am enjoying the fall weather and working on my lawn. Have a good day everyone!

Keep posting, you are of great value with the Stateside view, whether we agree or not. I do agree: but all won't and some come on strong if it triggers a subject they feel is important.

Ok, I spoke to my Gen Z son. Take that for what it is worth, but he is more of an expert on memes than I am. I was told that the engravings make fun of different memes and video games.

The OWO one was originally used in the furry community, but apparently has been co-opted to make fun of furries.

trending.knowyourmeme.com/editorials/guides/what-is-the-notices-bulge-owo-whats-this-meme-the-phrase-inscribed-on-the-casing-of-the-bullet-fired-at-charlie-kirk-explained

Here is the explanation about Groypers.

knowyourmeme.com/memes/groyper

I have heard the Bella Caio may be referencing a video game. This article explains some background on it. The song was also used as the background to Money Heist, a TV show about crime. It says the show used it as a rallying cry amongst thieves.

Came back to edit this: I saw a post on the Gaming Reddit, so take this with a grain of salt, the song, is used in Far Cry 6, Hearts of Iron 4. It also appears in Groyper playlists.

I don't even want to share this link because I don't want to give them attention, but I also don't want to be accused of spreading false information by my fans. This is an example of a Groyper playlist on Spotify. The song is there.

open.spotify.com/playlist/0ais7KJXx8Gyd0hsrbakKW

The "if you read this, your gay" one, obviously calling someone gay can be considered an insult and I can remember hearing stuff like this in my childhood.

The arrows refer to a bomb sequence used in a video game. I again read over at the gaming experts to learn more. I attached the screen shots. One thing that stood out to me is when he said that the bomb is used to destroy the bugs in their nests. There could be some symbolism there.

I'm going to hit post so I don't lose everything and come back with more musings on the meanings of the etchings.

imaround Sat 13-Sept-25 23:32:39

Of course I forgot.

imaround Sat 13-Sept-25 23:47:08

This is good information about Groypers.

www.isdglobal.org/explainers/groypers/

The question I have right now is, did Fuentes talk about Kirk being a fascist? Do Groypers believe themselves to be fascists or deny it?

I could see it all fitting together if they thought Kirk was a fascist, especially if they thought Kirk wasn't hard-line enough for the LGBTQ crowd.

My speculation for now is this:

Anti-gay
Anti-gay
Groyper rallying cry (the song)
Calling Kirk a fascist
Dropping bomb on fascist nest to wipe them out (like in the game)

Again, this is speculation and a discussion only about the possible symbolism of the casings. I have no insider knowledge of the shooter or investigation.

I will also be looking at other possibilities this evening.

TBH I had never heard of Charlie Kirk before he was assassinated. Whatever his views he had the right to say them to whoever would listen and I would always defend that right for anyone. Reading more about it I definately didn't agree with most of what he said. To kill someone just because you don't agree with their opinion is tragic. My heart goes out to his poor wife and child. This is very sad.

imaround Sun 14-Sept-25 00:48:00

I forgot about this, which prompts more questions. Lara Loomer (she has a wiki if you are unfamiliar) made this post 2 or 3 days before Kirk was shot. She took it down.

Robinson was allegedly a follower of Loomer on X. I have not confirmed because I don't wade in the cesspool.

Doesn't explain the casing etchings though.

Loomer has had controversy because she is Jewish and Fuentes, and others she has embraced, are anti-semites.

Loomer did appear on Fuentes podcast and they have apparently peen public in their support of each other, so it is feasible that Robinson could have followed both.

Again, speculation. I am just trying to figure out why he would do this. I am 100% convinced the call is coming from inside the house. This was not a liberal, a migrant, a transgender person, or any of the other alt-right scapegoats.

growstuff Sun 14-Sept-25 01:41:18

Oh, what a tangled web is being woven.

The trouble with these right-wing nut jobs is that they seem to see it all as an online wargame. I guess it's great fun (for some people) shooting up a baddy online, but it's not great when real human beings are involved.

None of them seem to have any respect for other people as human beings. They're totally evangelical about their beliefs, which would be fine, except that we can already see that some of these beliefs have started filtering into political reality - starting with women's rights.

When Nancy Pelosi's husband was attacked, there were fake theories that he'd been attacked by a gay lover - as though that would make it less serious than being attacked for another reason. Presumably, that would have made Pelosi gay, so of lesser importance than a straight man.

I truly hate identity politics. I really do not understand why people can't live and let live. People like Kirk wouldn't let people live their own lives, which is possibly responsible for what's happened. I suppose the fact that they don't seem to tolerate other people is why they always seem to be falling out with each other. That's dangerous when they're allowed to have weapons (guns) which can do real damage - it's not just hurty words.

I also wonder how many drugs are involved.
