65 Sharia courts in England for a start. Reported in the Daily Mail yesterday. I mentioned them months ago and was shot down on here. We should ALL be bound by only one law in the UK. A Muslim professor was saying the same thing on television a few days ago. He was horrified by their existence HERE. Totally unnecessary he said even for civil disputes amongst neighbours and cousins.

My daughter had two weddings: one a Sharia wedding in a mosque; the other was a civil wedding in a hotel.

Neither my daughter or her husband believe in any god.

The mosque wedding was to keep his parents and grandparents happy - as many people in the UK have had church weddings to please their relatives.

The wedding entailed going to a mosque, where the imam spoke to my daughter and her husband-to-be. There was no coercion to become a Muslim. The imam was aware that my son-in-law is not a practising Muslim. The imam spoke to my son-in-law about what was expected of a husband ie looking after his wife and protecting her. I expect it seems quite quaint and sexist, but nothing intimidating.

A document was then signed, involving all the males. My son-in-law promised to look after his wife. If he ever wants to divorce her, he has to pay my daughter's father £10. That's it! It can't be enforced in British law and, moreover, doesn't overwrite my daughter's rights. If they do want to divorce, my daughter can still go to a British court and argue her case for maintenance, just as everybody else can.

This whole Sharia Law trope is nonsense.

Yes I absolutely agree Bluebelle, it is a very sad day and the future is of concern. I am a person of colour, I've lived in this country for over 65 years. My parents and my siblings gave everything to this country and looking at the scenes, I wonder for what? When we arrived in 1960 we were told to get back to where we belong. Maybe we should have done but it was ok for the British to take over our country once. We worked hard, we had good jobs and we thought we were accepted. More fool us, I see now that things have not changed. I hate how we are being made to feel. Slowly but surely, bit by bit, this country is returning to those days. Of course when challenged, racism is being denied. All with the false words of "oh we don't mean you, you are like the rest of us. No we mean the others".
What a slippery slope this country is in and I am both heartbroken and angry. I can only hold onto the fact that there are so many good British people who don't want to be part of this and I thank them and I can see from GN who they are.

There were around a hundred thousand in the Unite The Kingdom crowd.

My parents and my siblings gave everything to this country and looking at the scenes, I wonder for what? When we arrived in 1960 we were told to get back to where we belong.
