4 of the 5 conditions are fulfilled.

UN report.

There are many Israelis who are guilty and have been for decades. It wasn’t government who threw families off the land it was “settlers” My friends family witnessed his grandfather being murdered before the house was set on fire .The rest of the family had no option but to leave….it was that or spend decades locked up in Israeli jails as thousands have been…even children for throwing stones at soldiers or tanks?
Israel governments have ignored UN resolutions time after time.Their “final solution “ was to wipe out all Palestinians and claim the land as theirs!
Apparently their god promised it to them 5000 years ago.A strange concept …a god who is happy to see innocents killed because of a piece of land .

Soldiers invaded the Knesset demanding a ceasefire. They threw their medication onto the tables. Medication for mental health issues as a result of what they witness being done in Gaza.

Today I read documentation by an Israeli doctor who worked in one of the worst prisons in Israel, and witness to the torture and atrocities being carried out on Palestinians.

I haven’t posted it yet as I want to be sure of the facts. But it looks pretty reliable

Israel has really pizzed in the chips by bombing Qatar, The entire Arab world will unite against them.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 17-Sept-25 08:27:22

They are! Statements of every Middle Eastern country, which previously had a relationship with Israel, all at the very least distancing themselves.

Italy, Spain, Holland and other European countries are either cutting relationships or cancelling defence contracts or refusing to import goods - particularly from the illegal settlers.

Meanwhile the little flotilla carrying such dangerous stuff as food and aid is getting larger and larger on the way to Gaza.

1948 state of Israel, 1948, 5 Arab countries declared war on Israel

And?

Smileless2012 Wed 17-Sept-25 08:37:47

You keep posting that Annie but the reality is Israel still exists while Gaza and the Palestinians who live there are being systematically destroyed.

It is such a pity that 'Israel' and not 'the Israeli Government' has been indicted.

Yes. The Knesset is made up of many small parties and Mr Netanyahu is leader of a tricky coalition. Most Israelis did not vote for his Likkud party and would distance themselves from the violence in Gaza.
However the call for the hostages to be returned is still a strong voice in Israel and that gives some support to the current action.
Yet again I will say that Hamas has sacrificed its own people by its arrogant intransigence and refusal to negotiate in good faith. But the Israeli government has broken faith too now, and is seemingly on a malicious path.

Can you explain what relevance that has on what's happening now 77 years later?

2 to 3 thousand Hamas soldiers in the north of Gaza are targeted by Netanyahu not civilians. Hamas has miles of underground tunnels in which to hide. This assault on Israel has been planned by Hamas for many years. Israel has no choice but to eradicate Hamas before the next stage of its war.

Oreo Wed 17-Sept-25 09:06:13

Very true ronib

The Arab countries may impose sanctions on Israel but nothing more they can do really.

Tell that to the people living in Gaza city, who for whatever reason are unable to leave. Poverty, disability, too old etc finds them sitting targets.

Israelis are 88% apposed to this and the top military have already said that Netanyahu will never defeat Hamas.

Smileless2012 Wed 17-Sept-25 09:09:04

This isn't Israel eradicating Hamas ronib; this isn't a war this is Genocide.

ronib Wed 17-Sept-25 09:13:23

My issue is that I don’t believe that Hamas will be eradicated even if the 2 to 3 thousand in the tunnels are killed. I think there seems to be a supply of Hamas from Qatar, Yemen?, and Iran. No country could agree to Hamas, as terrorists, remaining in Israel.

88% you claim this is fact ?

I am getting very irritated by the argument that this is genocide. It closes down any further thinking or discussion.
Even if it was genocide, the fact is that Hamas will be taken out. It must be for peace to follow.

Oreo Wed 17-Sept-25 09:19:51

It isn’t genocide, if the IDF could just easily get at hamas then they would do and job done.
It really is a case of hamas eliminated for any peace to follow.
I hope it will be very soon.

ronib Wed 17-Sept-25 09:19:55

Why on earth can a very well armed and large Israeli army not remove a small body of Hamas soldiers?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 17-Sept-25 09:25:10

I am overwhelmed and not a little astounded that there are some posters who contrary to almost the entire world “know” that genocide is not being committed.

If any one of you can address article 2 item by item and show with a good degree of evidence, as well as taking into account previous decisions on genocide, that genocide is indeed not taking place, I will be very interested to read your argument.

Anniebach Wed 17-Sept-25 09:30:10

I too , it is not genocide

Is that a real question? Asking for a friend!
Hamas operatives melt into civilian backgrounds and due to tunnels conduct sniper type warfare. They use people as human shields which is why they’re begging Gazans not to move out.
They have to be picked off here and there by the IDF.

ronib Wed 17-Sept-25 09:42:27

Hamas is using Gazans as human shields? What does the UN propose to do about that? Oreo

Oreo Wed 17-Sept-25 09:44:14

Sweet Fanny Adams I expect ronib

ronib Wed 17-Sept-25 09:45:56

Okay Oreo. So what next? Israel is not going to back down.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 17-Sept-25 09:47:29

I watched an interview on breakfast news with an ex UK Attorney General (think his surname was Ellis)

He said he had read all 72 pages of the UN’s report and according to him it is not enough to prove genocide^ in a court of law.

He was concerned that the majority of evidence emanated from Hamas (not mentioned until half way through the dossier) it could be deemed biased.

Not sure how I feel about his summary, but I am not a legal eagle
