My old dad would always say that someone would only blow their own trumpet because nobody else would. Well, the Trumpster had his own trumpet section going on at the UN yesterday.
It was cringeworthy.
It’s so very worrying that a country that used to have common sense and leadership skills should now be under the thumb of this rude and ignorant narcissist. He thinks that every word that comes out of his mouth is so very very important and true. He spouts a lot of positively harmful nonsense. A very power mad ,dangerous man. God help this world.. and I mean that very sincerely.
Obviously, someone should send for the men in white coats.

Illegal immigants in their taxpayer-funded hotel…
Here we go again.
Why on earth do you think our or any other government would be housing ILLEGAL immigrants in hotels or anywhere else?
The government has an internationally recognised duty to house asylum seekers – do you even understand what that means? Not just the UK, all countries have that duty, as long as applications are in progress. If they fail, though most don’t, they have to leave. If the application is successful, we no longer have the duty to house them, they have to fend for themselves.
But, most important, seeking asylum’s is legal. These are not “illegal immigrants”. You may decide you don’t want them in your country, but get your facts straight.
Replying to suelld.

well, every fool has followers.
You mean you believe in climate change and let’s use agricultural land to put up windmills and solar panels.
You obviously admire an idiot then FGT

It was the people of Britain who made the Baby Trump Blimp, because it reflected the way a lot of us see him. There were a lot of smaller ones being carried at last week’s march against Trump.
You seriously thought that blimp came from Sadiq Khan? Oh, my!
If this was in a Netflix film we would say it was "far fetched". Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Long ago it was said that 'all power tends to corrupt' and it looks as if Trump already had mental health issues, plus preferring opinion to fact, and being POTUS has accelerated his mental problems. Because of his power, people around him are afraid of speaking up.
It cannot be that all his team believe all he says or agree with all he does. Long ago, the court jester's role was to tell the monarch the truth, even if it was unpalatable. A risky job. But today America and the world need a courageous equivalent to the court jester to speak truth to power - to Trump.

Look it up. Braggadocious is not a new word, and Trump didn’t invent it.
He did seem to have invented a new country, though, something like Abberjaiban - it was apparently at war with Albania. Well, Trump must have ended that one, because it’s not going on any more.
It was in fact a different poster who said Trump had invented a new word and another poster agreed.
I didn't actually say either way.
This was not my post:
To quote him:
"I don't say that in a braggadocios way, but it's true”
To add to his multiple unsung talents(!) he has surely invented a new word.
Presumably Trump has been reading Spenser. 🤔

Just to add, he does seem to have his own vocabulary, so it wouldn't have been surprising 😀
Gizzy48...Khan gave permission for it to be flown..
Gizzy48 the immigrants arriving on small boats or in the back of lorrys have entered our country illegally therefore they are illegal immigrants, and in the main economic migrants too.
What else would you call them?

What age is that then? When does the cut off between decency and bigotry occur?
Sorry, JenniferEccles, but you are wrong. It’s not illegal to land on the shore, and their immediate action is to go to the authorities and apply for asylum.
If you think that’s illegal, just google it. Asylum seekers are not illegal. You asked what I’d call them. The answer is refugees or asylum seekers.
They’d be illegal if they just wandered off into the country but most of these don’t. If they had family here to care for them, they might get by, but if you bothered to look it up, you’d find they can’t claim any kind of benefits if they’re illegal, nor is it easy to get a job. And unlike people who live here, if they commit a serious offence their application will probably be dismissed and they’ll have to go.
You’re not entitled to anything if you’re genuinely illegal, and they wouldn’t get anything.
And you possibly don’t realise that the people who arrive on the boats are less than 50% of all asylum seekers. More than half come by plane with a visa – because visiting is legal – and overstay, either illegally (I’ve been told a lot of Australians do that, but I haven’t checked my facts so it might be wrong) or they apply for asylum. So “stopping the boats” – which will only happen if we can manage to stop the people-traffickers – will only halve the problem, and maybe we’ll just get more coming by plane and overstaying.
Maybe you think they’re living the life of Riley at your expense. I suspect you have no idea what they've been through to get here or what it’s really like for them while they’re waiting.
In case you think I don’t know either, I’ll admit my knowledge of the situation is second-hand, but it’s a very close second-hand: we had the Bibby Stockholm barge moored here in Dorset, and my daughter was very closely involved with a group offering support to those men who could bring themselves to come off the barge into town (many of them were too traumatised).

You seriously believe someone went to Khan and asked for permission?
Oh, hahahahahahahaha
*It was a BBC report, StripeyGran
Are you saying that the BBC is now stirring up hate?*
Will you please get off my case.
JE refered to some footage she had seen. I wrote about what I have seen with my own eyes.
