Please foxie48 try to understand that not everything is the fault of Israel. I am going out now.
What do you think animals think about sharing the planet with humans
US President Donald Trump has announced that "Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan"
"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line", Trump says on Truth Social
Trump is "considering travelling to the Middle East" in the coming days, according to the White House
Mediators from the US, Egypt and Qatar in Sharm El-Sheikh have been attempting to broker an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and a release of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas
The negotiations come two years and two days after Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to the 7 October 2023 attack, in which Hamas-led gunmen killed about 1,200 people and took 251 others as hostages
At least 67,183 have been killed by Israeli military operations in Gaza since then, the Hamas-run health ministry says
Well, we'll have to see - but I so hope that tomorrow will bring clarity that indeed matters will move forward now to peace, and that its not a Trump claim that cannot be backed up
Please foxie48 try to understand that not everything is the fault of Israel. I am going out now.
I don't think anyone has suggested that everything is the fault of Israel. I most certainly don't and nothing I have posted has suggested that. However I think the history of this area provides a context to the almost continous unrest and wars that have happened which cannot be ignored.
IMO Terrorism is generally the result of oppression ( not always) but where people are oppressed, terrorism will raise its ugly head. Israel was built on terrorism which succeeded in providing a home for the Jews. Where is the home for the Palestinians? Currently they don't seem to have one, this Israeli government is against the two state solution.
I cannot see a peace holding if the Palestinians have no hope that one day they will have a country of their own. I'm supportive of Israelis and Palestinians having a safe peaceful future but I struggle to see that happening with Netanyahu and his current government.
They can’t help it, can they 😥

Who can't help what?
The clans have always been part of the political background in Gaza. I'm not sure how this latest incident started because both sides are trying to blame each other. Unfortunately, we're probably going to see more of it in the coming days because the demise of Hamas is going to leave a power vacuum and the clans will see opportunities for themselves.
The clans have been fighting with Hamas for some time now but since the IDF have pulled back they are more able to see a way to take over.
Who can't help what?
Fairly obvious, I thought.
Different factions fighting, filling the vacuum as you say.
'Twas always thus over millennia.

Exactly! There's a real danger now that there will be civil war in Gaza.

Situation normal in the Middle East 😥

WHY does Israel enforce restrictions? It has to it seems to any logical person.
Because Palestinians are and have been a great danger to Israel.
Not all of course but very many. That’s why so many are in prison, they constantly attack Israel, the IDF and even innocent Israelis.
I would not be surprised if Israel were interfering by financing one side. They did the same with Hamas after Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2006.
Has any poster here contributed to the thread I started under the title of ‘The hostages are free’? Or is the concern only for the Palestinian criminals being released today? As far as I saw earlier only 7 posters have responded.Yet it’s a wonderful day for Israel and the innocent hostages themselves and their families and friends.Absolutely joyous.

Yes I think that is the real danger. The killing of innocent Palestinians in West Bank just to get hold of their land will bring nothing but continual hatred.
Until all violence toward each other stops peace will never be guaranteed.

Yes and the 'children' are teenage youths.
They will be ready for more conflict when they return home.

What do you want posters to write?
We can't all write "Fantastic" or some synonym.

I have heard that. It could be a way for Israel to get rid of Hamas by funding the clans.

There are certainly accusations that Israel has been funding some of the clans, but I have no idea if they're true.
What has happened today is only the beginning. Gaza needs strong governance. Here's hoping that the heads of state in Egypt can sort something out fast.
One thing I think may be a good thing is, that the world is now much more aware of the history and violence in the region, and all eyes will be on both Israel and Palestine on the treatment of each other.
Actually sunami you could write ‘fantastic’ or anything else that denotes pleasure that the hostages are released.
Not wanting to to do that is a whole other matter.

Fair enough! Suit yourself!
Quite honestly, your response says it all for me about you. It doesn't surprise me that you are creating imaginary antipathy when none is intended.

You don't control me or anybody else.
I'll choose whether to write or not.
Then why can’t you acknowledge this is a wonderful day for Israel and Jews everywhere? On this thread or the one I started.
We have been waiting so long for this day.
The antipathy is all on your side btw.
Perhaps I shouldn’t be shocked , am used to it by now.

Quite - it's good they are out.
But I know who will be writing on it by now and what tone it will be in - so, as I said elsewhere, "If you don't wish to see a thread - just don't read it".
It’s in a happy joyous tone CariadAgain simply that.
