Anyone else impressed by Danny Kruger?

I think he’s wonderful. A breath of fresh air in politics. Has such gravitas. Well spoken and measured MP who left the Tories and has defected to Reform. (Son of Prue Leith).

I see him as a PM in waiting to be honest. Won’t happen of course - but I am very impressed by him.

Isn't Reform turning into a Care Facility, for Tories who can't cope in their own party?

majen Wed 29-Oct-25 13:57:38

He’s a friend of JD Vance who visited him in the Cotswolds when he was recently in the UK. They would appear to share attitudes and values.

The problem with that rationale is, who does in any party, it was true that years ago many Labour MPs weren’t rich, but now look at the present government, all are not just millionaires but multi millionaires.

Shirls52000 Wed 29-Oct-25 14:16:20

Nope not impressed with him or anyone else in the reform party, we are a democratic country and they are a party of fascists sadly

Moggycuddler Wed 29-Oct-25 14:30:57

He's a horrible man with horrible ideas.

Mauduit24 Wed 29-Oct-25 14:33:32

I'm puzzled. I thought the attraction of Reform was that Farage is just a "bloke" who's like ordinary people.

Sorry, but Kruger, Tice and Farage don't seem to have much to do with us common folk.

Maybe FGT could tell us what she finds so impressive about Kruger.

Farage is anything but a normal bloke !.
He might have turned his back on the eu but not on his multi million eu pension!
He’s a Donald dump wannabe ! I understand that he’s barely been seen in his own constituency.
I wouldn’t trust the slimy snake oil merchant with a tea bag !

GrannyBettie Wed 29-Oct-25 14:34:46

Impressed? I am disgusted by him. His views and mine are totally opposite. Today he shared his admiration for the way Trump ‘runs’ the US. We don’t need Danny Kruger.

Luckygirl3 Wed 29-Oct-25 14:36:19

Some people are easily impressed ........

DaisyAnneReturns Wed 29-Oct-25 14:41:32

Why do you "like" the people working against you FGT?

Currently the top 1% share around 14-15% of total income. The top 20% minus the top 1% would then account for roughly 35-40% of total income.

While the bottom 80% share around 45-50% of total income.

Obviously, if you are in the top 20%, you may feel it right not to have to contribute in the same way as the 80%, to the country that has given you the opportunity to be that person.

his ego is bigger than Trumps and hes a snob

jakuss Wed 29-Oct-25 15:00:36

i would sooner have freddie kruger

Well researched thread from Dr Russ Jackson about the pro-Brexit Legatum, now calling itself the Prosperity Fund, showing how Farage, Tice, Kruger and GB News are all in bed with fossil fuel billionaires

Any wonder they talk about "net stupid zero" and deny climate change?

The stated mission is to 'promote prosperity' - but it won't be yours.

The breath of fresh air is more the stink of vested-interest halitosis.

sundowngirl Wed 29-Oct-25 15:03:53

We need these 'high earners' and the country would be much poorer if twe tax them so much that hey leave
The latest figures: - "The top 20% of income earners pay more than two-thirds of all income tax. In the 2021–22 tax year, the top 20% paid 67.7% of all income tax, while the top 10% accounted for 53.6%."

As a centrist liberal conservative, I have always admired Danny Kruger - he started a superb charity helping excons to be rehabilitated and he was the best kicker-back on the terrible, flawed Assisted Dying Bill.
Then he went to Reform and I have lost ALL respect for him. Word is he was waiting to be in Kemi’s Shadow Cabinet but decided it wasn’t happening so thought he’d do better with Reform despite the fact that they stand for everything he has opposed all his political life.

monami Wed 29-Oct-25 15:07:00

hes such a snob, with a huge ego

StoneofDestiny Wed 29-Oct-25 15:15:29

I couldn’t care less how much money our politicians have as long as they earned it honestly and their moral compass is set correctly. When you see Kruger with Vance, Trump and Farage (the pound shop Trump), it’s enough to know where his morals lie. Like the ideology and the populace politics of Reform, Kruger is an abomination.

Galaxy Wed 29-Oct-25 15:20:31

I felt similar when I saw Mandelson embraced by the labour party. Abomination.

Maremia Wed 29-Oct-25 15:20:47

Vance! He is a friend of Vance?
That tells me all I need to know.
Vance? The way he treated that Ukrainian President?
Fried, what are you thinking?

I was staying with my sister in Australia when President Zelensky was bullied in the Oval Office by Vance and his chums. We couldn’t believe that was happening.

LaTroisette Wed 29-Oct-25 15:49:25

He takes after his mother ie a nasty piece of work.

Stella14 Wed 29-Oct-25 15:50:17

Not at all. He’s seven by his religious believes. I don’t want that in a politician. e.g he is again assisted dying because his god wouldn’t approve. I think science should be the biggest part of this debate.

PaynesGrey Wed 29-Oct-25 15:51:11

He’s just had a taste of Reform defeat as teller for Farage’s Ten Minute Rule Motion: European Convention on Human Rights (Withdrawal). Excellent speech by Ed Davey to rebut the nonsense Farage utters. There was a lot of heckling. Labour largely absent from the chamber.

How MPs voted. The division lists:

The 95 MPs voting for Farage’s proposal to leave the ECHR came from:

The Conservatives: 87
Reform UK: 3
DUP: 2
Independents: 2 (Rupert Lowe and Patrick Spencer)
TUV: 1

And the 155 MPs voting against came from:

Lib Dems: 64
Labour: 63
Independents: 10
SNP: 7
Plaid Cymru: 4
Green party: 4
Alliance: 1
SDLP: 1
UUP: 1

Tellers do not vote. Farage, Tice and Anderson in the house. Pochin wasn’t there.

mabon2 Wed 29-Oct-25 15:59:38

Not one member of reform deserves my admiration.

ronib Wed 29-Oct-25 16:04:54

The whole government is useless…..

Etoile2701 Wed 29-Oct-25 16:10:01

Definitely not loved by me and I can’t stand his mother either. I am amazed that anyone would!
