Hope can the King do a salute and not know he has dirty white gloves on ? ...he has " People " to make sure everything is tip top .. When he raised his right hand in a salute I was shocked ! Dirty gloves ? What happened ?

He may not have known! It could have happened on the way. What a strange thing for you to pick up on!

BlueBelle Sun 09-Nov-25 14:25:13

I doubt it
It may have been the light on it or it happened as he touched something while already there, there is no way it would have been how he dressed, everything put on would be immaculate down to the last hair on his head
Very strange post

Some lackey has been sent to The Tower right now

No it is not a strange thing to pick up ... I have never seen any Royal saluting with a dirty glove ... Look at the BBC coverage again .. he was wearing a dirty Glove ...but of course I understand people have a blinkered view of Royalty and cant accept that they can make a mistake ...

BlueBelle Sun 09-Nov-25 14:50:27

Not me I have no love for them at all but I do know the king would not have been dressed in anything dirty may have been the light on it

Purplepixie Sun 09-Nov-25 14:53:48

You’re quite right. I saw it and was very surprised.

OMG I'm clutching my pearls!

aggie Sun 09-Nov-25 15:03:39

Looks like it got dirty lifting the wreath ?

I also felt sad that heroism in the line of duty wasn’t well represented by the RF today. Prince Edward wasn’t able to complete his training as a Royal Marine Commando ….. the two men who had contributed to the armed forces were of course absent.

King Charles did serve 1971 - 1976.

Which two?

Wasn't the King there?
He was a Naval Officer.

Sweetly, 18 month old DD got very excited when she saw him in his uniform years ago and shouted Daddy!! 😂
Her Daddy was away at sea.

Elegran Sun 09-Nov-25 15:25:29

The glove is perfectly clean. It is a ceremonial parade glove with a button fastening at the wrist and a gap where it fastens which in the photograph looks like a hole or a patch of dirt You can see his hand through the hole.

Allira Sun 09-Nov-25 15:35:56

I haven't seen the TV today but yes, that is probable, Elegran.

Storm in a teacup, fuss about nothing, next please!

Allira Sun 09-Nov-25 15:40:56

Perhaps he should have worn his RN uniform as Admiral of the Fleet and given the RN salute.

62Granny Sun 09-Nov-25 15:44:59

If you mean across his fingers, there is slight marking there in the photos I seen but it looks like where he has held the wreath by curling his fingers around it. It probably can't be helped,

Purplepixie Sun 09-Nov-25 15:45:25

What a load of fuss over nothing!!
The day is about some more important than a glove!!

What a silly post.

His glove has an opening through which you can see his hand. I have zoomed into the photo and seen the pink of his hand through the opening and the fastening of the glove, and I have searched online and found that parade gloves with this kind of fastening are freely available to buy. If anyone still things he would turn up on parade with dirty gloves, they can do see the same evidence that I did. If it is any help, two brands of gloves available on Amazon are Rothko or Dart.

Any more criticisms to air? Did the wind blow his hair out of perfect smoothness? Did any dust fall on his polished shoes between the limousine and the ceremony?

Pantglas2 Sun 09-Nov-25 16:01:20

So that’s sorted! No doubt there’ll be an apology along shortly…

Purplepixie Sun 09-Nov-25 16:10:03

Haha!!! This is so trivial it’s actually funny!!!
They gave up their tomorrows so that we can have today. A dirty glove - how pathetic can you get??? Don’t answer it!
