Presumably the police would have been involved so it's surprising that there are not reports in the media as there would have been arrests, surely.

I think the reason this is not widely reported speaks to a media that is skewed towards only reporting bad press about migrants and not those who seek to persecute them. Which is worrying.

It could, of course, be fake news which is equally worrying as it can stir up even more trouble.

The only item I can find re Hallowe'en and the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham is an advertisement for Hallowe'en event to be held there, with chicken in the basket at £22 per person.
But that was in 2024!

My search didn't come up with verification from any newspaper source. I don't pay for the Telegraph, so I can't see behind its paywall.

As far as I can tell, there are only two sources: HopenotHate and Ashlea Simon's X account.

I don't trust HnH 100%. I think they do some good investigative journalism, but they definitely have a bias and sometimes they exaggerate.

Ashlea Simon is the co-leader of Britain First, which I expect everybody knows is a far-right, antisemitic, Islamophobic organisation. They most certainly are biased, but in this case Ashlea Simon was boasting about it on her own post. Why would she do that if it wasn't true?

She's based in Salford and Greater Manchester is her target area. The Cresta Hotel in Altrincham has been a particular target for months, with flags and angry chants. It wouldn't surprise me if the local press have given up reporting it and the police won't do anything, unless there is actual injury - in this case, there wasn't.

They were firing rockets at cut outs of Keir Starmer and Sadiq Kahn. There were small fires, but they were quickly extinguished. They were also firing rockets at the hotel itself. Most of them exploded mid air, but one landed on the roof. Fortunately, it didn't explode, but it could have caused a fire on the roof. The protesters were apparently taunting the residents. In the end, no lasting damage was done, which was probably why the police took no further action and it wasn't reported.

No, it was definitely at Halloween - 31 October. You've found a different incident.

No, I'm not claiming for one minute that I'm 100% sure it happened. I do wish people would read properly.

She was a bit more coy about admitting that she organised the fireworks/rockets, but she was definitely boasting about them and keen to show the video, so her followers could see. Why would she do that, if it didn't happen and it was nothing to do with her?

HopenotHate isn't a random social media page. The event had been advertised beforehand and somebody from HopenotHate was there and reported what happened.

So, no, definitely no, this isn't the same as reading something on GN where everybody uses a false name.

I am sceptical of the information given, I couldn’t find any press coverage or statement from the police.
