It seems so shamefully primitive as a method to resolve conflict. Positively Neanderthal?

Of course wars kill people. More civilians than military in modern warfare is seems.

It’s not complicated. Putin invaded Ukraine. He wants to continue the land grab he started in Georgia, he wants to rebuild the old Soviet Empire. He’s a dangerous despot. For reasons about which we can only speculate. Donald the Potus chooses to support the dangerous Putin whilst humiliating Mr Zelenskyy.

Of course we all want the war to stop but surely blessed the peacemakers who are straight dealers

What has very conveniently been forgotten is that Russians living in certain parts of Ukraine were being killed on a regular basis we are given to understand. So Putin as a robust leader decided to take a stand. It may well have been a mistake but we have to live with the consequences.
I don’t know how this will be resolved but hope for a just solution if possible. Enough lives lost.

Never underestimate Trump’s revenge towards Zelensky, who had refused to cooperate with Trump and dish the dirt on Biden.

I think it's been "forgotten" because there was no evidence that Putin's claim was true. It was seen as a convenient excuse to illegally invade a sovereign country.

No I don’t think I support Putin. I have the greatest respect and sympathy for all the families who lost its young in this war though.

If you study Stalin's holodomor genocide, you will come to understand that Russia does not have a benign history with Ukraine.

Nobody want to go to war. Especially the Russians just now. They do not see Ukraine as a threat to be destroyed. So much so that the Russian Army is relying more and more on 'foreign' soldiers, like the North Korean elite troops sent by Putin's pal.
Like the convicts, given a release deal if they went into battle.
Like the immigrants, tricked into thinking they were being allowed into Russia for regular work.
This is Putin's war.

I condemn Putin in the strongest way possible. He has had people who oppose him murdered, put British lives at risk with his use of nerve agents, invaded his neighbours, robbed his own people, imprisoned thousands of people who challenge him, blocks access to media so he can manipulate his country with propaganda etc etc. This man is an evil tyrant with no scruples or conscience. I fail to see how anyone could support him and every day this war continues he sends more men to their death.

And paid bribes to Politicians, to support the 'Russian' viewpoint in important talks.

Maremia The Russians have been laundering their ill gotten gains in London for years. I do wonder how many of our politicians have made money out of their Russian connections. I would still like to know what Johnson was doing as Foreign secretary visiting Lebedev's villa in Italy. There's still so many unanswered questions about his activities and of other MPs who have admitted their connections to Russian "businessmen".

What I think is now clear is that our future lies with Europe.

The USA is no longer on Europes side.

The USA will have to wake up to the reality that they are no longer the centre of the world. We can all just get along doing what we are doing without them.

It's interesting to note in Twitter the battery of anti Zelensky tweets that originate from apparent Russian bots. I was reading about how lots of pro independence tweets at the time of the Scottish independence referendum originated in Iran. Obviously wanting to destabilise the UK. Sinister forces abound.

Our own secret services have identified Russian interference in our referendums and elections. This is why we all need to be very wary of where our information comes from. Russia also interfered with US elections and is thought to have helped Trump into office.

Iran relies on Russia for defense investment so no surprise there...
