War with Russia and America

The news tonight was truly frightening. Trump is gagging for war, his new best friend is dangling promises in front of him
and he is vain enough to think he means them. Ukraine was invaded by Russia yet is calling them Natzi. It is like Chamberlain going to see Hitler to pacify him, impossible because he too wanted Europe and war. I can't see a long term way out of this can anyone else? We wouldn't have a big enough army now, conscription wouldn't work because most of the population we have just wouldn't fight.

Well, 2 people have already tried.

The President is one of the most guarded people in the world, no one is going to be able walk up to him in a room . He has armed robots protecting Maralago for cripes sake.

I, too, share the sentiment and also have said that out loud in protected circles. But it would start a civil war, which we are trying to avoid. We have families and children too. How does one decide to fall on that sword? Who here would do it if they were in our position? It is not reasonable, but we all wish it would happen.

We are doing things Democratically until we no longer can. It will stay this way until Nov 2026 or until he starts something.

Oh look the good guys are wishing death on someone. Could you maybe not do this on a platform that I value.

I always remember two comments from when I was in a multilateral disarmament group years ago. To have no nuclear weapons is like going into negotiations naked and if you want peace prepare for warsad. What I don’t understand is people like Kuchner ( sp) and Trumps golfing buddy being the negotiators when so much is at stake. From what I’ve read during his first presidency Trumps SIL spent most of his time making a fortune out of trade deals that he slipped into everything he was doing.

Wishing for the assassination of an elected POTUS, Oh dear…

I know. But there it is.

It is a dreadful thing to say.

Not nearly as dreadful as him openly ordering and celebrating the murders of the people on those boats. No evidence of a crime, no trials. Just murder.

He should be tried for war crimes and treason and sentenced appropriately. We can take care of that here in the US though, if other countries are opposed to that. He likes that outcome for others, son what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Maremia

Trump is also intending to draw four nations away from the EU.
We could make a guess at which ones.
I would suggest Hungary, if Orban is still in charge.

It’s interesting that Trump’s Deputy Assistant on National Security is Sebastian Gorka, a Hungarian who is now a naturalized American. He is a most aggressive and obnoxious man who has been rude to the two BBC presenters I saw interview him recently, Victoria Derbyshire and Vicky Young who both managed to maintain their composure and civility despite his aggressive and patronizing tone. Gorka has strong anti Islamic views and has links to far right Hungarian groups with Nazi ties. The people Trump surrounds himself with are truly frightening.

Gorky has been around in the background for years. I remember him extolling the virtues of Brexit - doing Russias work for them. I reckon he thinks his time has come.
